Good news about the car part. And you also get refund from power company? You ARE having a good month.;)

Thanks, yes it's funny how things turn around - I said to DH we don't ever get loads of 'extra' money or lose a lot, it seems to balance out over time!

Happy Humpday folks! :wave2:

:thumbsup2 wow, a double bonus!! Fab to hear some good news after you guys were hit with the foreign xchange hassle :cheer2:

Dreamworks really showed off their talents in Megamind - amazing scenes with water and hair. :3dglasses

cheers,
:flower3:

Thanks - what is the story of Megamind, is it an adult movie or kids or both?

Good Morning Everyone !!! 4 Weeks from tomorrow my girls and I leave for Orlando !!!!

Don't you mean 4 weeks from today :goodvibes

For anyone who is interested, I have created a Packing List
for the trip - note it is still a work in progress, but I have left spaces where you can add to it or take stuff off you won't need.

You can download a copy of my packing list here: http://www.4shared.com/document/lAH5mr6m/UltimatePackingList.html

For the listing of Duck Tape on the Packing List - Here is some reasons why to pack a roll: (from the Cruise Boards)

>It can hem pants or a skirt in an emergency.
> It can fix a rip in clothing. (great for fixing a hole in a pocket)
>It can seal bottles of shampoo, suntan lotion, etc so they don't leak in your luggage.
> It can mend broken flip flops.
> It can keep silent a rattling closet door at 3 am in rough seas.
> It can mend a broken camera strap.
> It can mend a broken belt.
> It can secure a power strip out of the way so don't trip on it or the cords for all your rechargable phones/cameras/DVD players/laptops.
> Reenforce broken binding on the book you brought.
> Keep kids from leaving the stateroom while you shower.
>And many many more handy uses.

So you tie up your kids with duck tape :scared1:

;)

Good morning everyone - happy Friday for me as we've got a day off work tomorrow :woohoo: :woohoo: Gonna see the new style Disney store in Milton Keynes and do a bit of Christmas shopping :thumbsup2

Waiting for ship to be cleared to head back to work

Every cruise we learn a bit more...

Did you know that when the ship refuels (done at Castaway Cay) that all flames are prohibited? This has an amazing effect on the swimming pools (which are nornmally kept between 80-84 degrees)...

They dropped to somewhere near 70 degrees for the 4+ hours it takes to fill the old gal up.... We spent the entire morning drinking bloddy marys watching unsuspecting cruisers come running up and jumping into the adult pool only to rise immeadiately above the water and run to the hot tub :rotfl:

The best part was that the hot tubs were cold as well :rotfl2:

Happily all pools were back to normal temps by 2PM :thumbsup2

Also....

The lifegaurds at CC are on a 3&1/2 week schedule (there are 7 of them) and they come back to Orlando with the Wonder which picks up the next crew and leves them on the island... I had always thought that there were minimal caretakers at CC... This is apparently not so (maybe that is why the tallest palm tree in the Bahamas was built on CC (it is really an antenna) to provide communication, etc.

The crew is excited about our cruise... we may even have some special goodies available to us (lime green in color) for the Nassau shopping presentation

Can't wait to see everyone (and get the necessary exercise in distributing the Fish exchange gifts)

A giant tractor trailer truck just drove up... thay are unloading shrink wrapped (and decorated) christmas trees and wreaths onto the boat...:santa:

Lori is getting pics and will post up later today... I think the Podcast cruise is getting close!

(note to self) must go to Osbourne lights tonight and get in Christmas mood :worship:

so very cool :santa:

Thanks for all the fun trivia, but this one doesn't sound kosher to me ...

Did you know that when the ship refuels (done at Castaway Cay) that all flames are prohibited?

Why would they have a fuel ship have to go all the way to Castaway Cay to refuel just one or two cruise ships, when they have plenty of fuel in Port Canaveral where they can refuel several ships throughout the year? :confused3

What is more likely is that fuel is taken OFF the Wonder to power the generators on the island.

Happy Thursday morning! Happy Veterans Day.

My inbox was full this morning. Free burger from Fuddruckers and Red Robin. Free dinner at Mongolian BBQ. Free filet dinner at Brio. Free burrito at Qdoba. Free sundae from Culvers. So much for cutting back on going out to eat. Nom. Nom. Nom.

I have an odd question. Can I go to the Disney Store and buy a larger gift card with smaller ones? Fewer cards to loose seems like a better idea for me.

Interesting question....I'm not sure you can buy a gift card with another gift card, but it's certainly worth asking.

Good Morning Everyone...starting to feel more like myself, but decided against going back to work tomorrow....gonna take a few extra days and go back on Monday. I have so much to do in the next 4 weeks and need to be up for it.

Hi Todd,

I just called the Disney Store in Fort Worth TX to see if they could consolidate gift cards and they said that they could NOT transfer cards. I would call the store near you before you make a trip.

DS says yes.

I think it depends on the card.

I am planning on going to the Disney Store this evening (or tomorrow) so I'll stick them in my pocket and ask when I'm there. Worst thing they can say is no, right?

I don't see why not. I'm trying to think back to my Disney Store days in the 1990's. When you total a sale, you had the option of posting the payment as different forms of tender. Someone with a gift card could apply the balance of a card and then pay the rest by cash, check or credit card. (Or Disney Dollars! Forgot about those!)

So if I was going to sell a gift card and total the sale, I would expect the register would allow me to apply multiple gift cards as payment for the sale.

Makes sense in my head, but I don't know how the registers have changed in the past 10-15 years.

So I just got done printing and laminating everything I have collected for door decorations.

We are going to add a Christmas Card telling everyone that passes Merry Christmas (kinda funny since I am an atheist) but does anyone else have any more ideas for what to add? I'm totally OK with not being able to see anything but the stateroom number!
