Country Bear Jamboree

Recently returned from my fifth trip to WDW, and for the first time, I experienced the Country Bear Jamboree. I have to say, it now rates at the very top of my "never again" list.

I'm interested to see if there are many folks out there who enjoy this attraction, either for the sake of nostalgia, or for some other reason. Because I don't see the appeal. It seems like a ripe attraction for a major refurb. (How about replacing it with a "Woody's Roundup" musical attraction?)

Are there CBJ fans out there? I'd love to hear from you.

I look at it as a classic and would hate to see it leave. We usually take turns seeing it while we are waiting for the parade.

Ok - it's not great, but it's nostalgic (remember going when I was a kid), and a good time to go is right after the 3pm parade (view it in frontier land) when you're cooked and need a nice inside a/c environment.

A Woody's roundup show is a great idea though.

I love the Country Bear Jamboree! My DH could do without it, but he also first experienced it as an adult. For me, the draw is definitely nostalgic. I love the talking animal heads on the walls, the silly jokes, and my favorite - Big Al! Blood on the saddle....

i love it for the memories. but, i can't visit it right now. it honestly makes me sad to see the condition that it is in currently. i wish they'd give it some love and clean it up. it doesn't need to be changed, per se. it just need some TLC.

IMHO I think it's a waste of space. I love the idea of "Woody's Roundup." There are other places to go inside to escape the heat of the day.

I can remember being a kid and seeing clips of this on the Wonderful World of Disney show and wishing so, so hard that some day I could see the bears - took until 1991 but to me this attraction is much like It's A Small World - it's just something that's classic - and a nice place to take a break. There was a time when the animatronics (sp?) were truly a wonder to watch....We visited again last year and plan to this year as well...

Hi! I agree with the others it is a "classic". There are two attractions that are much worse Carousel of Progress and Stitches Great Escape. LOL!

Have fun.

I didn't do it this past trip, but I have done it every other time. I love seeing it with the different generations of my family, my niece and nephew clapping along with my grandparents. It is a classic, but probably only to those of us who have grown up with it. If I were seeing it for the first time, I may think differently.

This is DH's favorite attraction. We try to see it every visit. It does need a big help of TLC and a nice refurb, the bears are getting musty. But it should NOT be replaced!

Mama, don't whoop little Buford... He he he!

"I think you should shoot him instead" :lmao:

I miss them bears. Out here at Disneyland they decided the the Pooh Bear should go where the Country Bears used to be. This is one of our never miss attractions when going to The Magic Kingdom.

I'm not a huge fan of the Country Bear Jamboree, but I completely respect it as a "Disney Classic" As such I would not be in favor of removal. The same goes for Carousel of Progress. This one I do LOVE and visit on every trip.

When we went to WDW in April for our first trip, we did not do Country Bears. My girls weren't interested and I thought it may be boring, so we skipped it. I don't know... we may do it on our next trip but it holds no nostalgia for us. :confused3

Our first trip was in 1982 (I was 6), I thought that CBJ was the best thing ever. I laughed so hard and talked about it well after we came home. My dad bought a record of Disney music and slides of the attraction. We would listen to the songs and watch the slides all the time.

I haven't been to see it in many years. I may have to give it one more go this trip. I have to admit that it doesn't hold a real place in my heart like it used to, but I'd probably feel sad to see it go.

I've seen it once, and I really don't care one way or another if I ever see it again.
