We just came back from a wonderful stay at Coronado Springs Resort. These are my random thoughts and impressions of the resort.

The check-in process was flawless. We did the new online check-in, and it allowed us to enter a slightly shorter line at check-in. They honored our room request at the Casitas, and in fact we got an exceptionally gorgeous room looking out on the water with the sunrise visible from the window (from the bed, even). We also did the new Airport-Bag-check with Southwest Airlines at the tail end of our stay, and that went flawlessly as well.

The grounds were up to the impeccable Disney reputation, very neat and well groomed. CSR is extraordinarily pretty in the early morning and evening. The pool was fabulous, neat and clean, warm, not crowded, well supervised, with several beach balls floating about for people to have fun with. We didn't have any problems with walking to the main building the few times that we needed to; it wasn't as far as some would have you believe. We had a rental car, so I cannot comment upon the busses. I can comment upon how nice Security was when we discovered a dead battery one morning. Within five minutes a car pulled up and a guy got out and jump-started the vehicle back to health. Very pleasant and accomodating. I'm ashamed to confess that it never occurred to me that the Hotel Security would help us with our dead battery problem, but the guy at the giftshop suggested them when we volunteered that our morning was not starting out well, and I am so glad that he did.

There were plenty of convention-goers while we were there, but other than being dressed more formally than us tourists it was nothing to remark upon. We only saw them at noon (lunch-time) when they would flood the food stands and bars.

The marina was closed, so we didn't get to experience that. We managed to claim one of the coveted hammocks a few times, and that was nice, but we didn't stay more than a few minutes. Plenty of nice folk offered to take our picture when they saw us with the point-and-shoot. I think we only had to ask someone once; people volunteered.

The king-bed room was nice, nothing special, but nice. We asked for a microwave oven during check-in, and it was delivered an hour or so later. We used it alot, too, to reheat leftovers from some of the fabulous restaurant meals that we had. Plus Starbucks VIA instant coffee. The room had a small coffee maker and a small fridge. We could hear the people from the next room, especially in the still hours of the deep night. The guy was snoring up a storm. It wasn't loud enough to be bothersome, though. The room was clean, but we did have one issue with Mousekeeping: they didn't change the sheets, and even when I tore the sheets off of the bed and left them in a heap on the floor, they just re-used them. That prompted a phone call to Housekeeping, where their response was excellent -- a manager type came out to our room to investigate our complaint, and the room was meticulously maintained from then on for the rest of our stay. The sheets were replaced (I eat in bed, and I'm not particularly neat about it, because hey, I'm on vacation), the coffee station cleaned up, the bathroom drinking glasses replaced, the towels replaced, and they even neatened up a bit. I was quite satisfied by their listening to and addressing our initial displeasure with the room cleaning.

We ate once at the Pepper Market (bleh!) and were not impressed. Never made it to the Maya Grill. We had several terrific meals at the WDW restaurants, but at CSR specifically we just ate at the Pepper Market and the Dig Pool, and both experiences were mediocre at best. The marina bar was good, and we illegally fed the fish, which was fun. The drinks were strong. The giftshop was just OK. It didn't have some of the common bathroom supplies that I would have expected, and we had to drive down to a local Walgreens to get them.

We used the Laundry room once, at Casitas, and it was clean and working fine. No issues, no complaints. We also took an afternoon off and enjoyed the Spa. Whereas the ambiance isn't nice like the Poly/Grand's Spa is, it was not horrific, either. We both had a 50-minute massage, and we used the $50 off coupon without difficulty. The massage was nice, albeit way too short ;-) The atmosphere was business-like; perhaps to be expected at a conference hotel. We never used the exercise room (thank God).

That's all that comes to mind. If anyone has any specific questions, I will try to answer them.

Matthew, thank you for the very thorough and detailed review of your stay at the CSR. I know that I, and many others, appreciate the time you put into it (I didn't want to copy the whole review...others can see it in the post previous to this). It sounds like you had a good time and that the staff was helpful when needed...this is what I like to hear.

Thank you again. And if you have more pictures to post, I know for one that I would love to see them. :)

I am very new to this thread/site---but wanted to add that I have read through this whole thread (I am usually on another message board).

Goodness, what a wealth of information!!

We are coming to WDW --The Coronado Springs Resort--July 12-21 for a big convention (we are actually coming in days ahead and staying a few days afterwards!)
Your tips have been invaluable!
I now know when/what building I want to request (Casitas #4)--that online checking is a good thing--and that the food at The Pepper Market can be sketchy.

Thank you all for your great info. If I have any questions, I certainly know who/where to ask!

Welcome; we are delighted to have you here. Ask away...there are many wonderful, warm and friendly people here on our little CSR thread who will be happy to help. :)

Thanks :goodvibes

I am very jazzed about going. No one in my family will head out with me to Florida in July--as we know the humidity can be brutal (yes, us Californians are kind of not big humidity folks)--and they think I am nuts. My one daughter with special needs will be coming along though--as the conference we attending is 'all about her'. :)
She'll love Coronado Springs

Thank you so much. Have a terrific time!!!

Hi, thanks, I am having a blast, I could very happily live at Coronado Springs!

Okay, unsweetened tea is for sure available at Siestas (the pool bar at the Dig Site) & to be 100% sure I ordered it today.

It's a little fuzzy of a picture so I'll check back tonight to see if it's sweetened or not.

thank you again-enjoy your vacation!!!

Thanks for the pictures Matt....if you have more, please, keep them coming!!! I can't wait until our trip, and I really need to get on the phone to make that resort change TO CSR!! :)

Thanks for the trip report! I didn't realize microwaves were available in the rooms. I think that's something we may want to take advantage of ourselves. Was there an extra fee for it?

There are a limited number of microwaves available. You need to request it when you check in (you cannot request it early). There never was a fee for it, unless that has changed. Matthew can let us know that since he just had one.
