Peeps 2. The Sweaty Asian Strikes Back. Pt 2. Feb '10. 2/21-Final Chapter. Link to TR

no, I guess not.

The Grand Californian is the only DLR resort where you can really escape reality. You don't ever have to see the outside world during your stay because you can walk through DTD to Disneyland or go to DCA through the GC's own private entrance. It's a great getaway if you can afford it.

You are going to have a GREAT vacation!

I can't wait to hit DTD, that's on night one! It wouldn't surprise me if we are there several times.

:rotfl:

I will definitely stay at the GC one of these days...just not this trip. I can't say that I have a desire to stay at DLH or PPH though

I heard world of color might be delayed...I decided just to avoid all the news updates so I don't get bummed out. The DCA food and wine should ease any pain.

:rotfl2:

Okay we won't talk about World of Color......:sad2:

There are a few new stores. So it was cool to browse through them.

You can always do what I did and just take a tour through GC....soooo nice.

I know...D Street! I can't wait to check it out. We will definitely hit the GC, for a glass of wine if nothing else. None of the dining options excited me all that much though so skipping that.

Your pictures actually made me do some reminscing, and kinda sad at the same time. Yeah, all the hotels and shops and DTD are great and all that, but I miss the simplicity that DLR had once upon a day- ie. 70's of my childhood. Now when I go back I feel lost and overwhelmed.

I guess the old saying is true- You can never really go back home again.

I walked in D Street today. I thought of you when I was in there and saw a few shirts that I think you'll like. Let's see if we match up!

Napa Rose is really good, but their menu is pretty limited.

yeah, it's definitely different.

I would say not many places are the same as they were even 10 years ago.

If you visit DLR go during the week during off season and the essence and magic are still there.

It looked pricey lol! It's more of a casual trip so.... I need to double check it though, I was leaning towards Wine Country Trattoria due to F&W. Looks like we can make ressies 60 days out (at both WCT and HOB) but it's CC guarantee which is a little annoying.

Would you pick Napa Rose over Wine Country Trattoria? The only real restaurant I've eaten at at DL/DCA is the Blue Bayou!

I did love my fried chicken at Aunt Polly's on TSI. I have a feeling it wouldn't live up to my childhood memory though.

Hmmn, I will be very curious to see if we match up at D Street, I am quite sure I will be spending some money in there! I can't wait to see what they have. I have a feeling it will be a very dangerous store for me...and it's a good thing Kendall isn't on the trip or I'd end up broke! That much more reason NOT to buy clothes for the Cali trip!

:rotfl:

Oh you WILL accept that challenge!!! :rotfl2:

Good, I'm glad!!!! Now let's GO TO WDW!!!!!! :woohoo:
Just think.....with mine and Cherie's moves and Rosies Accordion playing, we could change Epcot forever!! :thumbsup2 I'll bet Rosie will be able to find that Hot Italian she's been looking for in no time.
Now who's playing match maker?....."Find me a find, catch me a catch! :thumbsup2 When you find Guido for Rosie, be sure to catch the first pitter patters of love on camera. :)

I also LOVE your PJ's, Winkers! Too cute! :goodvibes

Oh where is the tag fairy on this one?! :rotfl2:

Oh! That would so be my luck. Well, actually that tag would be pretty hilarious under my user name. Everyone would want to know why it's there and then I can tell them all about one of the most hilarious PTR with a crazy red head who decided to do a re-enactment of a woman doing a pole dance in Epcot. :rotfl:
Speaking of the Tag Fairy....I have over a 1000 posts, why doesn't she pick me, dang it?!?

Yours is never dull! There are just ebbs and flows to a PTR/TR. You'll get your mojo back.:thumbsup2
::yes::

Rosie, we'll be helping you find that Italian.....:thumbsup2

Can't wait to meet Guido via pictures in Jordy's TR. :woohoo:

just a little fyi....I have 4 bruises and a bump from my pole dancing accident.
I knew that had to smart! Sorry Winkers. But your trip is right around the corner, so that will make up for any bumps and grinds....I mean bruises, I meant bruises! ;)

Yup! Guilty as charged and proud of it. Kinda feels good to be acknowledged for a little funny. :cool1:

I can see it now.....

A film produced by D. Jay, Directed by D. Jay, filmed by D. Jay, edited by ... you get the hint.....

Walt Disney World:

Epcot:

Location: Just in front of Italy.

Performance group: The Last Diser's Standing.

A crowd forms as a bunch of miscelaneous thespian dis goers perform "How to find a Hot Italian, or You did WHAT with an accordian?"

Starring:
Jordan as the instigator.
Dawn as the "innocent" bystander.
Cherie (not Winkers) as the cheeky lass.
Cherie (Winkers) as the horse killing pole dancer.
Introducing in her MAJOR first role: Rosie the accordian playing gal desperatly seeking Guido.

Followed promplty by 6 major arrests, interviews by CNN, 5 golden rings and a partridge in a pear tree (why Danny is there we don't know).

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: OMGoodness! Just when I thought we couldn't get more funny goin on here, up shows D.Jay, winkers other half. You married yourself a good man here Winkers. :thumbsup2

why would you stay at the grand californian...or what ever it's called, when it's not very far from where you live?
I was thinking the exact same thing.

By the way Jordy....what exactly did you do when you were a CM in DL? What other things did you do before working for the church, I think I remember you saying you were a restaurant manager, right?

I've not eaten at Wine Country...and Napa Rose...it's been 5-6 years.....

I'd probably go with something offsite.

I'm the Photographer for this one :thumbsup2!!!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Someone walking by will think you're the "street people" from US - or maybe they have them at DHS too? :rotfl2:

I worked in Adventureland/Frontierland Merchandise from 1979-82 and 86-89. 87-89 I worked in mgmt at the Plaza Inn/Plaza Pavilion complex!

I worked at Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes for 12 years and Cheesecake Factory for a year. i was a restaurant mgr for years, but spent many in training/devt

OK, that settles it. I'm gonna have to make a trip back to Cali. in the next few years. Jordy, do you know when the changes will be finished? I've actually never done the other park besides DL. I miss DL. :cloud9: It's where I cut my Disney teeth. :teeth:

Cherie! I can't believe how talented you are! Well, maybe I can! :lmao:

Did anyone else notice she had her make-up beautifully applied and was sporting a perfect pedicure? Hmmmm..... Do we have an undercover audition going on here? Maybe she wants to be a CM and work as a pole dancer on CGC? Just sayin' :rolleyes1

Oh Millie, you have to. DLR has its own magic, especially in the off season like Jordan said!

Wow! The restaurant bus. is a tough business to work in, and you did it for a long time. Did you burn out? The money is alluring, but eventually you end up burning out, well that, and you never feel your life is your own.

I totally noticed!!! I think I even mentioned how oustanding her toes looked. She claimed she needed concrete undies to do her dance moves, but I think she's being to critical of herself, she looked great!!!!

I've been itching to go back, it's been since my DS17 was 9. Wow! I can't believe it's been that long! We use to go at least every few years, but then my in-laws moved further north in Cali. so there wasn't a good way to go back without it costing more money than we wanted to spend to stay in Southern Cali., just seemed like a waste of money compaired to going to Fl. to see WDW. Now I'm starting to rethink that way of stinkin thinkin. ;) If that makes any sense at all! I know it will because your a Diser. :thumbsup2
I miss the magic, WDW is wonderful, but there's just something special about DL magic.

Woo hoo for less than a week!

I don't think I ever actually knew the monorail went through Downtown Disney at Disneyland!

The Grand Californian's lobby is gorgeous!!! I would love to stay there someday.

California Adventure's renovations will be done in 2012.
