That is a hoot. Wish I'd thought of it.

Don't ya have to be a llittle nuts after you have been thru so much this past 2 months. I would be more than a little. Probably certifiable at this point.

Mark has named the first shot "Sleepy" since they told him he'd be out for this. And they called and moved his appointment from 1:45 to 11:30 on Friday. This is good because he can't eat or drink after midnight the night before and can't take his meds.

That is awesome on the time for him. And you really. Ok, the last shot's name is "Why the h--- didn't I do this sooner?" With the 6th one being "I don't even care anymore"

Here are the real ones.

1. Sleepy
2. Drugs
3. Nice Dr.
4. Stupor
5. Glad my neck is not as big as Dumbo's
6. Groggy (cause he'll be coming out of it)
7. Hungry

Ginny, I love them. You are terrific! :)

Leaving the office for the day so I can go make hubby a nice dinner tonight since he can't eat or drink after midnight tonight (no breakfast for my big guy tomorrow). Thanks for all the prayers everyone and I'll post tomorrow after the BIG SEVEN to let you know how it went. :grouphug:

A prayer for Mark for a good outcome from the injections and for you Kathy for being his strength right now.

 Ginny

Good luck to Mark tomorrow! I hope everything goes smooth. Glad they moved the time up earlier!!!

Thanks, Tim.

We're home. I need to go to ALL of his appointments with him because as a typical man (sorry, Tim) he only HALF LISTENS! He did not have seven shots. He was put in lala land and had one shot with three doses for his first visit. They indicated he would probably have more tingling in the arm on the side effected; it will take 3-5 days for it to start kicking in (we also had to call his regular doctor to see if he should double his medicine as he is borderline diabetic and this will create sugar); he goes back on Friday for a follow up and then in six weeks to see the doctor. If there is not great improvement or he is still uncomfortable, they will give him another shot (they will go up to three treatments).

I took him to breakfast after he was done (he was starving) and now he is reading the paper; I give him 30 minutes before he is dozing. :)

So glad you are home and for your sake I hope he is asleep real quick.

I agree with you on the non listening thing. I'm am married to one too. That is why I tell his Drs. to put it in writing.

When he goes to sleep and since you are home you should probably get some rest yourself. I know you have to be totally worn out. You are either at work worrying over stuff or home worrying over stuff. So now put your worries in the jar and get some rest while you can.

 Ginny

I'm glad everything went smoothly! I hope you and Mark are able to get some rest.:goodvibes

I'll forgive the guy comment too! ;)

You know, Ginny, you can't live with them and you can't live without them! :rotfl:

While he napped, I did laundry and went grocery shopping. We're going to the high school tonight to watch Markie's old team wrestle; Mark has to work all weekend so I'll bake some cookies and rest in between.

Tim, you know I love you! :)

Hello! Kathy
Glad everything went well...I should have said something but thought maybe it was something different (Ihad never heard of seven inj in the spine in all the years of being in the ortho's ofc--some people only needed the one but most need all three) . You can only have three edidural steriods in a one year period. When mom had her first one she her immune system was so low due to all the pain she had been in that she developed the shingles(very rare side effect). Mom's epidural inj usually takes 4 days but she starts to feel relief the next day. But, not the first one...she normally has to all three! but, he should have some relief start tomorrow...

OH! and steriods usually have a big effect on sugar and blood pressure...sometimes swelling can be bad (but uncommon with injections)

Hope he is able to get some rest and you too!
:wave2:Connie

Kathy, what an ordeal! Do hope Mark is beginning to feel at least a little better tonight -and you both get some rest. :grouphug:

Thanks, Christine. I think for the next two days that Mark will just be really tired (he has to work all weekend), but hopefully by Monday he'll start to feel better.

Mark said he feels a tad better...he actually slept really good last night but then he worked 10 hour and was on his feet all day. I didn't even hear him get up this morning for work; I think I was just too tired from baking five batches of Christmas cookies yesterday (and I ache too!).

Good news, Kathy! OK, so the 7 dwarfs are out for names - how about going with Huey, Dewey & Louie?

Good afternoon Kathy. Glad to hear you both got some sleep. That in itself is a blessing. You cookie baker you. I must do that some day. I did clean my house top to bottom yesterday and that nice Don did my floors. He uses a steam cleaner on the hardwoods and they just shine. I forget how nice they look when actually clean. :)
I also got the Christmas tree up yesterday and cooked dinner for the family.

My tree is not quite as pretty as the one's at Disney but it didn't cost so much either so I'm good with it. I didn't get all the hornements(that is Austin used to call them) on but I didn't dare ask Don to return to the attic a 4th time. I think he would have just brought down a gun and let me have it.

Hope Mark continues to do well. He so deserves it as do you.

Thinking of you.

Ginny

Good afternoon, Ginny.

I don't know about you, but I always feel so much better once my house has been cleaned top to bottom; I did that yesterday because we'll be in Dubuque the next two Saturdays to watch Mark wrestle and next Sunday we have dinner plans with friends (can't really afford it, but we've not been out to eat since vacation and we're going to PF Changs with our friends); the following Sunday, the 20th, it'll be time to clean the house again for the holidays.

Don deserves a big hug from you. :)

You need to do like I do. I had Andy (our oldest) bring every single box up from the basement and then I went in them and took what I needed and had Markie (the youngest) take the boxes back downstairs. That way I don't miss anything I need.

We both got some sleep this weekend. No shakes in the improvement department as far as the pain, but they said it would take 3-5 days and Mark worked all weekend with his show and was on his feet going through showroom and probably a lot of head turning which is what starts the bad pain. Hopefully by tomorrow or Wednesday we'll see some improvement.

Someone told me I should use a KitchenAid for my cookies. My grandmother would be turning in her grave if I did that. She taught me the old fashioned way and that is the way I do it (it's just getting harder the older I get ;) ).

Have a great afternoon.
