This will be our first time at POP and I am terrified, TERRIFIED with all these bed bug rumours. Especially hearing that some rooms have old-need-to-be-replaced mattresses.

Have stayed @Pop 3xs and will be back for our fourth stay in August...NEVER had any bed bug issues...I will sometimes take me own bed linens and put them over the ones there just so I feel more comfortable/at home...ALWAYS take my own pillow or at least a pillowcase from home to put on the hotel's pillow....I do this wherever I travel, not just @Pop!
Relax and have a WONDERFUL time! :cutie:

Relax. We have stayed at Pop four times ( the last time was last month) and I have NEVER seen a bed bug let alone any other kind of bug anywhere in our room. You will love Pop - have a great time!!!

As soon as you get to your room, check the mattress. No bugs - :thumbsup2 If there's something there, take you and your suitcases back to front desk. They've had them at the deluxe resorts too BUT it's not a common thing. I always check and have never found any.

We just got back, no bed bugs!!!

And we had an awesome time. Our mousekeeper made it fun to come back each night because she would have the stuffed animals watching tv or "playing" on the bed in different groups--you'd have to see it. The kids loved finding out what the teddies were up to while we were in the park.

Anyone going down from up north, take it easy, it's hotter than hades down there. Take breaks and visit the pools! And Have fun!

We are taking a trip to Pop Century over the 1st week of Dec. I have been to WDW twice, once at Port Orleans Riverside (which I loved) and the other at All Star Music (not bad, but we picked a bad time to go). Im going with my gf and my 18 year old brother. This is her first visit and im wondering if Pop Century is a good choice. I want her to just love every minute of her stay and im wondering if I should upgrade to Port Orleans again.

What building and view did you get? I am soooo excited, our trip starts in 62 days!:yay::yay::yay::yay:

Don't shoot :worship::worship:

I am sure this has been asked way to many times... buuutttt

We have 74 days till we leave for our first WDW vacation... I just can not believe we are really going......

Sooo being our first trip, I have read and read and read.... thank you for having this great thread!!

I would like to have a lake view room, maybe one that we can see the distant fireworks.... We are in a standard not a preferred Room.. Would requesting a room in the 50s section Building 3 be a good choice? or the 60's Section ?

Thanks

It depends on several things. Pop has a high energy feel that some people love or hate. If you think that your group would like more of a low key atmosphere then switch to PO - it's more laid back which some people like after a busy day at the parks. When I go solo or with the girl friends I like high enegy Pop. When I want to take a slower vacation and unwind with the hubby we choose something other than Pop.

Another consideration is that there is a curtain between the vanity are and the rest of the room which makes it nice getting ready in the morning. I have in the past brought a heavy shower curtain and stick on hooks so we have priavcy at Pop.

BANG! :lmao: j/k

I would suggest the 50's section, lake view, 3rd floor. If your request cannot be fulfilled, then you can always walk to the breezeway of the 50's section and watch the fireworks. You will have a awesome time!!! And feel free to ask any questions!!! We love helping WDW first-timers!

We will be staying at POP in September on our first family trip. I am hoping someone on here can help me! We are trying to figure out if we need to order groceries to have breakfast foods in the room, as well as what we could check in our luggage. I'm wondering if someone who has been down there recently can tell me what kind of grocery items are available at POP, and how much they cost. Specifically, 1/2 gallon of milk, 1/2 gallon of OJ, any kind of kid's yogurts (GoGurts, Yoplait Kid's Cups, the drinkable ones...), and bread. I would really appreciate it. I don't want to order groceries, but I'd like all of those things ideally. Thanks!

We were at Disney Dec '07 and stayed at POP (we will be there again in 62 days!!) I requested a lake view, Tramp building, top floor with a view of the fireworks. When we checked in, we didn't get any of the things that we requested(understanding that these where requests), but not even 1:confused3. I didn't say a thing, I was just going to have fun no matter what or where. We were at Disney! Then it was like Tinker Bell threw some pixie dust and our CM says " hmmmm, this isn't what you requested..............Let me see what I can do". WOW!! was this really happening. She handed me our key and circled where our room would be. 4th floor, lake view, Tramp Building, room 3434--------with a perfect view of the fireworks! It was Disney magical.:wizard:

Now this year, we are wanting a king bed with an adjoining room for our 2 kids and 2 grandkids and my husband having recent knee surgery will be in a huge knee brace and in a wheelchair, so as wonderful as that room was, my requests have changed this year. I am hoping for something a little closer to the main food court and bus stops but I still would love the top floor cause we like it a little quiter when we are ready to go to sleep. We will see what we get. POP is our Favorite and I hope you love it too!

that was our old room 3434. This is a GREAT view of Epcot. I loved waking up and opening the blinds to see the Epcot ball right there. Also seeing the fireworks was great too.

For those that have been to POP before, did you take mid day breaks? Was the travel time worth it?

We never do, but we have late starts to begin with. My DH has actually gone back a few times last trip, but DD and I kept going, and then would go back in the evening for swimming.

I don't think I've heard of Bedbugs at Pop. I have at All Stars, but not Pop. I think they changed out all the matresses last fall.
