I know so many of us were sad when our CMO videos did not make the original top 20 cut, but I wanted to let you know about an awesome opportunity to win great disney contests right here on this board. If you haven't already, go check out the disunplugged board and listen to the weekly podcast. If you email a question or leave one via voicemail, and they choose your email/voicemail for the show, you win a cool tshirt and you get entered into a monthly drawing with great prices including hotel stays, passes and even a disney cruise! I don't think a lot of people are aware of this, so I wanted to share the info with ya'll!!

So, since it's so quiet here, I assume everyone is either . . .

a)taking a well deserved rest after a frenetically paced evening!
b) at http://www.dreamcmo.com/justin voting for me! ;)
c) following limabeanmom's advice and entering to win prizes throught podcast
d) burnt out from all the DIS love . . . nah, what am I saying?! That's not possible!

So, is it a, b, or, c?

(of course none of the above is always an option!)

Happy Sunday!

Are there limits on what you can do to advertise? Are you allowed to set up your own sites? Buy google ads? Paper your city with fliers? Send out press releases?

I'm just curious...

Yeah, that's right, I brought the music!!! :rolleyes1

Screw the rules.......I followed them to the letter and look how far THAT got me!!! :headache:

Haunted, I may need a quick attitude refresher course before the awards! ;)

Going back to relive the awards show and comment on all the funny and wonderful things I didn't have a chance to do last night.

Ann - great avatar!

They are more like guidelines anyway!

Don't start without me. I've got my best ship on the way!

As soon as I saw this, I knew we were in for a GRAND evening! I guess I didn't know quite what to expect right before this post...and then wham!, we get a full musical production number to kick things off right!

Good Job!

{song ends}

EVA: Thank you very much. Wooo.. I'm out of breath!

MARIO: Welcome to the DIScademy Awards. Performing his hit song... well a song that he hoped would be a hit with voters, please welcome FLEAGLE!

{A Pair of Large Doors open upstage and Fleagle enters, surrounded by 5 leggy dancers}

Very cute ... but I'm wondering who the 5 leggy dancers were??:rotfl:

Ladies and gentlemen, please give a nice round of applause for our esteemed guest here to present the very first award in this very first DIScademy awards ceremony. And now, the star of the summer’s most anticipated new film who is sure to show Sylvester Stallone what it is supposed to be like when you resurrect your action career for a whole new generation of viewers, Mr. Harrison Ford!

Now who doesn't love Harrison Ford?!

So looks like cute dogs and mermaids beat out Pooh Bears every time, huh? :rotfl:

DISgeeks -- Loved the tie-in from Cheers, the Incredibles and how you even went back and got the quotes from all of us using the nicknames!! (Now how long did that take ya?

No limits that I'm aware of! Why, do you have ideas?? ;)

DR HANS. (with his wife, SNOW~WHITE): Please welcome back to the stage, Mr. Antonio Banderas!

ANTONIO BANDERAS: Thank you friends, and thank you DISboards for the Dole Whip in the green room. Que Sabroso! We thank our previously mentioned nominees. (The envelope, por favor.) And the ganador of the Mickey for Best Foreign Language Film is . . .

Dr. Bill, by a landslide!

Foreign.jpg

Thank you, Dr. Bill, for using the Sponsor magic to make your patients happy, and for reminding us all to stand clear of the doors. And, Dr. Bill, you have my personal gracias for actually pronouncing this phrase correctly in Spanish, unlike the noble, yet flawed effort of a certain “close-but-no-cigarillo” video that intoned, “Por favor, mantenganse pegado a las puentes” (“Please stay stuck to the bridge”).

Ciao, todos! Los veo in Zorro II: Ataque del sexy!

That Antonio...he's easy on the eyes...even when there isn't a photo of him!

And thanks for 'splaining the 'stuck to bridge') :thumbsup2

Jennifer: Good Evening. Throughout the history of film there has been a great tradition of the avante garde….of the unique of the different. Where would film be today without Stanley Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey

Little did you know that this would become an important part of our DIStory of the DIScademy Awards!

I'm so glad Poof Lady won -- she really made us all laugh or snort or something...:rotfl2:

Now who doesn't love Harrison Ford?!

So looks like cute dogs and mermaids beat out Pooh Bears every time, huh? :rotfl:

Seriously - - - Harrison Ford is the man.

And, yeah, who's not a sucker for cute dogs?

ARIEL: [looking around the stage] Look at all of this stuff... isn't it neat?
I am pleased to announce the winner for Best Forbidden Video. And I'm also pleased to announce that we have a tie.

{offstage} WHAT???? OUTRAGEOUS!

RABBIT Enters

{applause}

RABBIT: You can't have a tie. It's not allowed... its, its...

ARIEL: Forbidden?

What a clever outcome for this category!!

Congrats to the brothers and the ineligibles!

Tracy Geier – Paperdolls on Sticks!

Let me share with you -- there was actually a three way tie for this category among the #1 Guy, CalDisney and Paperdolls...and then guess who sent in a late vote herself??? CalDisney voting for paperdolls!

I took that as fate that the least tech video had to win!

====
And I just submit this again for your viewing pleasure! (actually, I'm not sure if Disney took down the links or not...but you remember this one!)

HAL: The Mickey Award for Technology is Not Your Friend goes to:

Benjamin Ogan – Extra Sound Effects in Cooking Up a Dream

HAL: Dave, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye.

<HAL fades away>

<Marshay, shaking her head, walks off stage>
