January 2008 Code Watch

Did anyone manage to get a BC or YC AP rate? If so, would you mind sharing the dates and rates please?
Thank you!!

Okay so I had reservations at the POP, but just called again (for the 4th time today) to see if there is anything open. Well just so happened that they could get us in the Animal Kingdom lodge for $300 more plus know we have hoppers which I didn't originally have. The think I was afraid of is we are bringing our 6 and 3 year old, are they going to enjoy AKL as much as POPS (not that we have anything to compare it to because we have never stayed at any resorts). Please reassure me I made a good decision! Otherwise I will call and do our basic packages at one of the other resorts. :confused3

Hansent,

I haven't been to pop but I have been to AKL. It is such a beautiful resort and the pool is huge. With many chances to see the animals you can't go wrong. I believe the rooms are bigger at AKL. Go for it, you won't regret it!!

You will not regret staying at AKL it's a wonderful resort. The kids will be amazed with the animals. Relax and enjoy the anticipation of a great trip. :goodvibes

My brother in law called to try to apply a code and was told the only one he could apply was ZWC. What is this code? I haven't heard of this one. I might have missed something though. Once I got to apply my Disney visa code I didn't pay as close attention to what was going on. Anyone know what ZWC is?

That is the code for January-March for people booking the MYW package with no dining :)

we got the free upgrade for our stay that includes water park and more. now does this mean we can do disney quest more than one day since we have the park hopper too?

We have never been to Disney before....and thanks to the lovely folks on this thread I was lucky enough to get a code applied to our ressie.:thumbsup2

Now that I have calmed down...LOL! (We saved ~$500! We are staying in a mod. with delux dining. Plus, we are from Canada so with the dollar doing well paying was a pleasent surprise as well.) I was wondering what the "fun upgrades" included.

Thanks:flower3:

Hansent, I think you made a great decission! Besides AKL being very beautiful, it also has a lot to offer for kids: The zero entry pool is great to play in, there are many areas were you can watch the animals and there are many activities for kids going on every day: cookie decorating, an african music parade, crafts, to name just a few. Check out the unofficial AKL FAQ, there is lots of info on AKL as well as pictures. Just be prepared that the food court is much smaller than at Pop, but then there are two sit-down restaurants: Boma, a family restaurant which offers a buffet with many exotic items, but also with a lot of food that is not so exotic, too. And Jiko, a more grown up restaurant, my personal favourite restaurant in WDW.

I would be very careful about taking the word of only one CM. The way I read Cheshire Figment's sticky (under Theme park threads) you must upgrade to a Premium AP if you use any of the "plus" options on your ticket.

You probably should call several times and talk to several CM's to be sure, or at least ask at Guest Services when you get to WDW.

I am considering upgrading to AP's during my trip, but if I have to upgrade to a Premium AP, I will not be using anything beyond the hopping option.

The Cheshire Figment sticky is very useful. Another piece of information I found out from doing searches on here is that if you're planning on upgrading to an Annual Pass you should have the CM who gives you your tickets in your resort to put the tickets on to a separate media than you resort passes. Apparently, upgrading to an Annual Pass can mess with your whole group's Dining if you have Dining with your package. If you're not planning on doing this until the end of your stay, then it's no big deal.
However, I agree that you should check before you do anything, because it would be bad if you ended up being forced into buying a Premium if that's not what you want.

WOW, I got upgraded tickets AND a resort upgrade -- LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY me!!!!! Thanks to everyone that sent me pixie dust!!!!!

I'm soo happy for you! AKL is my plan for my honeymoon in January 2009. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. I wanted to pick somewhere not too girly, but still had a great ambiance, and of course wouldn't break the bank! (it's gonna be close, but we'll manage)

Congratulations!! You are going to have the best time!! It will be way better than you can imagine. The fun upgrades are water parks, Pleasure Island, and Disney Quest. The water parks are way better than any other water park I have been to and they are in true Disney style. Even in the "cooler" months, there are still days that you can go to the water parks. If you go to DQ, don't forget to stop by the Cheesecake Factory inside DQ. It was my favorite part of DQ! (Yummy chocolate cake big enough for two!)

I'd say go for AKL! If you don't mind me asking what are the breakdown of costs? I checked AKL w/ code and I thought it was almost $700 more than Pop for me. We're staying Pop 7 nights, 2 adults, 1 child w/ dining.

You can find most of this information on Cheshire Figment's Sticky on the Theme Parks Boards, and possibly other places... I get confused as to where I get information after a while.
The number of pluses you get depends on the number of base tickets you buy. For example, if you buy a 7 day base ticket, then use the code to get the free PH, WPF&M Upgrade, then you get 7 plus admissions. This does not mean that you can use one Water Park admission, and go to DisneyQuest the same day on the same plus admission. Even if it's the same day, if you went to a Water Park then DisneyQuest, then Pleasure Island, you would use 3 of your plus admissions. The Park Hopping option only applies to the Four Main Theme Parks.

I little question.....Can I book the offer online with out the insurance???

If you call CRO directly, you can request NO insurance. That is something new that disney has added to the online reservation process. You used to be able to decline the insurance and now it is automatically added. :confused3
