Considering First Ever Solo Trip - Tips, Suggestions, and Advice?

I say go for it! The first time I traveled solo to WDW, the memories did pop up a time or two, but they made me happy. I loved setting the pace and stopping where and when I wanted to stop. I really enjoyed just sitting on a bench with a drink or dessert and people-watching. I did not miss working to make sure everyone else was having a good time.

Taking my first solo trip in March. I have the DVC points, already a passholder, and had miles. I sometimes will head to the parks while waiting for others to wake up, but the three days I have scheduled will be interesting.

I never ventured in this forum, but I expected it to be more active. Are there other places to find solo meet ups in the parks?

So excited for you! OP here, and have been super busy so haven't posted much...but would love to hear more tips and news from others!

And after THREE rescheduled dates, I have my second one day solo trip next week!

First solo trip in less than a month. I’m excited to go at my own pace, do the things/rides/breaks/etc I want to do…and just enjoy the moments.

I long for a solo trip! I had a run Disney solo trip planned for February 2021 but we all know what happened that year. I had in my mind a solo trip for Feb 2026 for the 10k (if I am lucky enough to secure a bib) but I foolishly mentioned it to a colleague and she has invited herself along 🙈 I am too polite to say 'I am sorry but I do not want a travelling companion'. One day.......

I'm planning my first solo trip in August 2026, and I'm so looking forward to all of the single-rider lines that I qualify for! I go out to eat by myself all the time (classic introvert), so that aspect doesn't bother me at all-- if I'm feeling social, I'll ask to be seated at the bar, and if not, I'll ask for a table and put my headphones on. If I need a break, I'll find a quiet corner somewhere to chill out, or hop on to one of the slower rides like the Railroad or Carousel of Progress, or just head back to the room for a bit. Being solo means I get to explore all of the nooks and crannies I generally miss going with my family, because they're not generally interested in that kind of thing.

I have my first solo trip this July, Usually 4 of us Me, DW, DS, and DDIL, well this year we are doing an Alaskan Cruise instead of WDW, but my wife has a conference in Tampa in July, I usually tag along to her conferences and explore new cities, but Tampa is just too close to Orlando! (well same state anyway :) ) So I am doing a 4 day solo trip as a result! It will eb different but should still be fun! Looking forward to see how it changes perspective of the parks solo vs group?

I love my solo trips. The only thing I don’t like is eating alone but at least solo I can eat where and when I want. I don’t usually get reservations but you totally could. Ressies for one are easy to get and don’t forget you can also try for ressie for two and modify to one.

I take care of the nostalgia part by going on rides my usual partner loves and have been known to send a text with a selfie, but I also go on rides he doesn’t like to take care of myself. So freeing to do only what you want to do. I love my family, but as a wife and mother I find I often worry more about their comfort and pleasure. Solo travel lets me consider only myself.
