Official 2024 Universal Studios HHN 33 Thread

Honestly, he might be okay being dumped at the end of the house if it’s too much (heck, I might be with him! lol. It’s been a while since I’ve had a good fright).

We are in Australia. There aren’t any professional scares within driving distance. DH doesn’t ‘do’ horror movies but has agreed to watch the properties for the houses. Honestly, I’m hoping that Ghostbusters and FNAF feature because he would be happy to go in for those two properties.

I wouldn’t say DH is a wimp but he grew up here in a time when Halloween wasn’t even a thought over here (we are older).

I loved HHN at Hollywood. One of my cousins is a scare actor and she works so hard to terrify people. The effort she and her coworkers put into their characters is amazing.

Thank you for your observations.

I went last year and was going to go on their day tour Event Add On (3 or 6 houses ) lights on
Even that made me nervous so I was “ brave” enough to use my Annual Pass free ticket for the very beginning to experience the Open of the Gates Crowd experience and walk around .
I think this might make me braver this year for that free AP entry ticket .
And the 3 house lights on add on event for $99.99 + per person .
The 6 House tour is 179.99 + per person depending on dates.
A mini tour actually begins as soon as 8/11 probably for the few Houses that are ready as they continue with the other locations.

I also was advised to stay on the sidewalks as I walked around because the scare actors will not approach guests on the sidewalks . Haha Trying to remeber if I needed to get off the curb to cross over to the next curb I must have made sure nobody was nearby and I probably walked really fast.
I had fun being the chickenest guest ever BUT now I know a little bit more about slowly taking that step by step into the Haunted never at night for me HHN at Universal Studios Orlando.
Also lots of bloggers posted lots of videos last year So I bet they will again this year.

The dates posted today for the HHN Ticketing will be for Thursday 8/30 thru Sunday 11/3
And I noticed that every night is an event except for Mondays and Tuesdays.
I guess a monster scare actor needs a night off too!

Kinda excited !

Yeah not sure its 100% guaranteed - in some zones (Hollywood and NY) it does seem like it - but I am not sure its an official rule.
No doubt its tamer than it was several years ago and the SAs so not pick on people like they did in the past :(

Several anecdotal accounts in early years they followed people into the bathrooms. Always chalked that up to urban legend lol

I've seen them trap people in stores or the the pub for extended periods of time - they were not allowed to follow them inside, but they could wait for them. The poor woman did not know what to do - was fun to watch. Really miss those days of HHN.

Second original house announced today: Goblin's Feast
You are definitely on the ball! Thanks

So, what do we think of this one?

My take, they could make it a really fun house. Don’t think they will rip off LoTR or WoW in any sense.

Haunted House Announcement: Goblin’s Feast

Welcome to the Goblin’s Feast Tavern and visit the goblin village where a lavish feast is being prepared for goblins, orcs, hobgoblins and witches. And you’re the main course.

This could be fun I think! But I am a D&D nerd so....

sea world's SAs will pursue you a good ways past their scare zones...it was so funny. They're like HHN "the early years"

Sea World's SAs will also banter with you and hide in bushes and such to catch you unawares. That along with the more dimly lit scare zones and significantly less people - meaning you could be walking through dimly lit fog in a creepy setting with no one around you - makes for a much more creepy vibe and better opportunities for the scare actors to really get people.

Inspired by the 2022 scare zone, Sweet Revenge. What initially appeared to be a sweet 1950’s Halloween parade, takes sinister turn. Major Sweets candy transformed the children into cold-blooded killers.

it was a well-done scarezone, likely will translate nicely into a house.

Anyone else thinking they are being “epic-ly” frugal :p , via reusing old props on hand lol

I'm starting to get excited - 2 of the 3 announced houses I'm really interested in. The other one completely not: which is good as I will only have 1 night to attend, and will most likely need to prioritize what I want to see - so makes it easy to know what to skip!

Don’t be too quick to dismiss them out of hand before reading reviews.

Every single year, one of the dark horses winds up being one of my favorites.
The one I'm not interested in is the slaughter sinema.....I think it will be very much too visually graphic for me - I know other houses might have similar scenes incorporated, but slaughter as a central theme makes it seem like that will feature extremely prominently throughout the entire house. Just something I'd rather avoid. The other two have elements that specifically interest me, and seem like they will have more variety in the make-up/visuals/scare tactics.

I also actually really like that the first 3 announced are originals and not IP specific - a lot of the IP I am unfamiliar with, so these give something that anyone can relate to without having to know a specific show or movie.
