Never been on a river cruise

River cruises are wonderful! I've been on 3, all with AMA via ABD and would love to do the Rhine again or the Danube for a third time.

We won't be on the Provence river cruise-I don't normally travel in September nor October (I made an exception for this trip).

Well, I think I am getting a very miniscule insight into what Kevin Klose must go through multiple times each day when arranging trips. Not only has my contact at Fortnum & Mason left; they have changed to a new seasonal menu, so all our choices are void. We now have to pick from this menu:

Welsh Rarebit with Oven Dried Tomato & Caramelised Shallot

Lobster Omelette Victoria & Truffle

Classic Scotch Egg with Piccalilli

Herb Crusted Glenarm Beef Fillet with Pommes Anna

Stilton & Butternut Squash Pithivier

Baked Brill & Lobster with Champagne Sauce

Eggs Royale or Benedict or Florentine

Unless ABD cancels the Egypt trip, we will not be doing this cruise. Saving our pennies for whatever the boys come up with in 2021.

Good point re: 2021. I'm still trying to decide. I've never done a river cruise, and I'm front-loading 2020 with vacations. I need something to do later in the year, LOL.

Since we’re all Disney fans here: If anyone needs a book to read or listen to on the plane. I’m listening to Robert Iger’s Ride of a Lifetime that just came out. The book starts off very powerful and candid about the Pulse shooting and alligator tragedy all during the Shanghai opening. So far it’s very good.

Hello! I just woke up a few moments ago and remembered a few more things I need to pack. I worry that I don’t have enough warm clothes, but figure I can always purchase something in London if need be. It’s hard to believe this day has arrived and that I’ll be on a plane for London in just a few hours. I’m looking forward to seeing you all in merry old England!
