Fantasmic Thread!

Re: staying after the first show, does anyone know how that works if you're in the "wheelchair" area? It looks like everyone stands up for fireworks, and the wheelchair area is in the back, so presumably those guests would be blocked from being able to see anything if they stayed and everyone stood up.
They would be able to see the fireworks up in the sky, but they may not have a good view of the projections, with others standing.

We have always stayed seated for fireworks. The area clears out as not everyone stays for fireworks. Your experience might vary of course.

The last time we saw the show, we had BB seats and everyone was required to stand for fireworks. When the dining package people stood, people without dining packages filled in the space behind them in order to view the fireworks.

Hmmmm maybe depends on how crowded it is on the night. We have definitely remained seated on our blanket several times to watch fireworks after Fantasmic. 🤷🏼‍♀️

How big blanket and cushions is our question...never done either before and how to bring into park logistics all day? Lockers?

I go to Disneyland at the end of June every year. Ive done Fantasmic for over 10 years. Ive always had to stand for the fireworks.

I am not debating this by any means, just sharing my own experience. This photo was taken June 11, 2022. Our littles were standing up by choice for a better view but you can see all the other people still seated on the ground (myself and the adults with me were seated as well).

I don't think standing for fireworks is a Fantasmic thing. We've sat and waited to watch projections on the castle and we are always asked to stand for the fireworks show there as well.

There are lockers for rent in Disneyland. Disney can get a little picky about large blankets and shows..

The BB dinning package used to come with these. We have several. They don't anymore, but I plan to bring this. Sitting on concrete so these do make a difference.

I have one reservation that says Fantasmic and one that is a regular meal reservation. I stopped at River Belle today and asked if I would be able to upgrade the regular reservation to a Fantasmic meal at the table. The hostess said possibly in the future, but not for at least the first few weeks.

I mean makes sense

I said this on Reddit and will say it here...if you really are upset by this DO not show up to show the...but I think this is another thing Disney fans (will complain about then...show up and buy the dinning package and basically tell Disney this is fine

I'm not complaining, I loved the Dragon but it was only there for 12 years the show is still amazing with or without the Dragon

LA times did a story on Fantasmic's return! Including some sneak peeks!
https://www.latimes.com/travel/story/2024-05-22/fantasmic-disneyland-returns-after-fire-no-dragon

I know folks were hoping for new dragon. Looks like it's just reimagined B mode. But I'm super excited for the return of the Peter Pan sequence.
Heavy implications that a dragon may come back at some point in the future.

On the bright side, the dragon was the most frequent issue when the show had to operate in B mode (not working at all, no fire). Likely less of a chance that Maleficent has an issue in non-dragon form!

Personally, I am thrilled Peter Pan is back. I found the sequence far more dramatic and exciting as PP as opposed to Pirates. The Pirates sequence never really fit in a show all about ANIMATED characters and it was the only live action movie.

I loved the Peter Pan sequence!! Very excited to see the show online first and then in person on my August trip!

I am disappointed the dragon is not returning but not surprised. It's my first trip to DL with my husband and we will be happy just to see the show at DL finally!

Bummed about Murphy (and also super confused why they couldn’t fix it?) but SO very excited about Pan and Hook being back! I refused to watch when it was pirates. Lol. So needless to say, it’s been awhile since I have seen the show. Can’t wait!!
