Hi! Just wondering if they have wristbands at all the Disney resort pools or just the Deluxe resorts.

Don't know what is current practice, but when we stayed at Contemporary back in 2019 we did NOT have wristbands.

Hi! Just wondering if they have wristbands at all the Disney resort pools or just the Deluxe resorts.
AFAIK, Stormalong Bay is the only resort pool that requires guests to show proof that they are staying at either YC, BC or BCV and distributes wristbands to those guests. All other resorts with pool fences have locks that are opened with your room key or MagicBand.

Only deluxe I’ve ever received a wristband at was for Stormalong Bay. Some may ask you to access using MagicBand (like Poly). Some are a simple latch gate.

Not sure about Jambo House but the pool at Kidani Village at AKL didn't require your Magicband or room key to enter. It was just a gate that anyone could open. There was even an issue where I overheard a few guys that were bragging about being in the pool despite being Universal employees and NOT resort guests.

Also not WDW but I know Grand Californian in Disneyland required your room key to open the door.

I was at BWI on July 4 and also days before and after July 4. They did not check ID. Not at any point while we sat at the pool. They did not require ID check of any type to enter to the pool gates. They’ve never checked on any stay at any deluxe we’ve stayed at except BC/YC

For a reason I fail to understand folks find that pool special and try to crash it

Not to say CMs won't come around asking to scan your band (at main pools) so always take your bands with you.
You know in over 10 years of going to Disney pools that’s never happened. Granted I’ve got one cause well you gotta get back in the room and all so there’s that. Just saying it can’t be common occurrence at all

And funny thing over at universal you do need you room key to open the pool gate. Universal doesn’t run their resorts so possible their employees don’t even know

I found it weird that Universal employees would go through the effort of sneaking into one of the pools at AKL but even more so if the actual Universal resorts require a room key LOL. I did tell one of the lifeguards but I'm unsure if they did anything. I only saw them at the slide and never again after that.

YC/BC does wristbands. When I was there, CMs were checking that everyone at the Poly pool was a resort guest and were asking non resort guests to leave. The other deluxe resorts tend to have gates that are opened with a magic band but beyond that, I’ve never seen CMs verifying further.

All the Deluxe with the exception of Jambo being you have to go through the hotel have card/magic band access on the gates that we have stayed at. We have been checked by a CM at the Poly always around the time of the MK firework.

Pretty sure there is fencing and gate at Jambo. I think it was one of the first ones they did and I remember lots of conversations here. I looked for photos ..

There have been enough reports here about being checked, and I've seen some being checked ... honestly they should ... that everyone should take their bands or room keys to the pool with you.

Thanks everyone! We usually stay at YC/BC and always need to get the wristbands. I know people have said they have been asked for a room key/magic band at Poly also. Thinking of trying a moderate this time, not sure how many of us are going yet, but for the reservation I will just book 4 ppl for now if we all need to use our magic band to get into the pool.

we just stayed at GF and they didn't require magic bands to access the feature pool.

Since whoever is using the pool is also accessing the room seems like one would simply have that with you when you go to the pool. You’ll never have to worry. Besides, don’t you need something to get back in the room?
