We are searching for a home to rent in Feb. for our 1st trip to DW & have found one we like in Indian Creek. I have read on here before that it is not a gated community, just wondering if it's safe & a nice neighborhood. We are landlubbers in the midwest & know nothing about Orlando:). TIA!

I am interested in the responses you get as well! We have one booked there this November. We have to stay offsite since we will have our two dogs with us. For some reason I thought it was gated and that it was Indian Wells that is not.

Maybe someone can tell us more!

We have rented and stayed there about 5 times. It is a great location, the houses were mostly decent. It is very dependent on the owner as far as cleanliness, so get reviews from previous renters.
As far as safety, we never had a problem. The houses all had security systems. When we were there last year though, there were a lot of houses that were being foreclosed on and were just empty and abandoned. That bothered me a bit, not sure why, it just did.
We have always had fantastic vacations renting there, I honestly think you will be fine.

Indian Creek is not gated.

The area is great.

We stayed our fisrt time in a rental home near by in Indian Ridge Oaks. We loved it.

We actually just left our rental house in Indian Creek this morning. Indian Creek is not a gated community but we felt absolutely safe there. The house we rented was VRBO 257985 and we all loved it. Indian Creek is a quick ride to any of the theme parks. People in our group felt comfortable jogging alone in the morning and evening as well as walking around the neighborhood. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

I don't particularly care one way or the other about gated access (and often find having to wait in line to get home each night to be extremely annoying.)

We have stayed there and loved it. The rates were great and felt very safe.

Yes! We stay at Lindfields a non gated community and feel very safe. They have a great alarm system and a safe in the villa. We love the villa and will be going back this Dec.

We've stayed in Indian Creek and in Rolling Hills, both are non-gated and we never felt there was any need for the neighborhoods to be gated. That part of Kissimmee, the Formosa Gardens area, seems to be a very quiet and safe place. I wouldn't worry one little bit.
Go and have a wonderful time!
