Wild Africa Trek in July

We are heading to WDW in July and we've done the Wild Africa Trek before and loved it so were hoping to do it with all our kids this time (now that they're old enough).
Problem being, we get a large discount on the 12:30 Trek.....we would like to take advantage of it but are wondering how miserable we will be with the heat at that time. I think I remember most of it being in the shade but wanted to see if anyone has done that time slot in the summer.

We are from the south, so certainly used to hot humid summers if that matters.

I don’t think the issue will be how miserable you are, I think the issue will be that animals will not be out and about during the heat of the day. When we took this tour it was September and our guide said they only recommend the first tour of the day because the animals will rest during the heat of the day.
