Looking forward to your report! I always love the travel day—it’s fun to see the start of a trip!

Disney adjacent is lovely!

Yes I feel very blessed to be able to visit the nothership often. I hope someday you'll be able to come visit!

Excited to hear all about it! It sounds like a wonderful trip!

It's time for fun in the Hundred Acres Wood!

After dropping my things with Bell Services, I hopped on the bus for Magic Kingdom and was soon walking down Main Street towards the castle. It was an early entry for resort guests and we were doing our best to take advantage of it. Kathy ( @KathyM2 ) was holding space up by the Cheshire Cat Cafe so I squeezed my way through the crowds to meet her. Camilla (my book club friend from home) was on her way from AKL so she joined us a few minutes later. So where were we heading on this beautiful morning?? Well Kathy had heard a rumour that Peter Pan's flight was reopening that morning so we all agreed to head that way. Arriving at PPF, it was under delayed opening but we hopped in line anyways and were rewarded with it opening up about 15 minutes later. It was so fresh and lovely with everything cleaned up and the offensive scene removed. As always, it was a pleasure to take a flight through Neverland.

We opted for Jungle Cruise next right at the official rope drop time of 8:00 am. It was a perfect and very punny cruise with an awesome skipper. We crisscrossed back through the park to Haunted Mansion and were rewarded with a walk on time of 13 minutes. Of course we had to stop for photos after!

Next it was time for Pirates and they were running the shortened queue. So we took advantage of this and rode twice as we were hoping for the front row for a certain pose!

We were getting close to our check in time for Crystal Palace so headed down there next. After waiting about 5 minutes we were joined by the fabulous Miss Bilie. It took another 10 minutes to be seated as we were waiting on my lovely friend Irene (we grew up together in PEI) and her son Evan. Once our party was together we were escorted to a large circular table to the left of the buffet area. We had time to go up for first plates before our visits with the gang. Our waiter was awesome and brought ice water all round as well as coffee and juice orders.

I had heard people talk about the churro waffles here and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! Imagine that churros and Mickey waffles had a baby and this was the result...fresh, hot, crispy, with a cinnamon sugar crunch. They were incredible. And even better with syrup and butter!

Add in the cheesy potato casserole, some yummy bacon and fresh fruit and you have the breakfast plate of happiness. :)

Our character visits started after we had second plates and it was so, so fun! What a perfect way to start our day.

We were there for almost two hours and had so much fun! We headed outside and up to the hub grass where we met an incredible photopass photographer who did a great photoshoot for us.

Our fabulous photoshoot!

Irene, Evan and I!

Billie with her Canadian girlies!

The whole gang!

We all headed off in different directions for a bit after this. Camilla and I had a VQ for Tron while Bille and Kathy went to battle Zurg.

After Tron, we decided a leisurely ride on the People Mover was in order.

We all met up again after this ride and decided upon Carousel of Progress where we had an awesome theatre filled with fellow CoP lovers and we all sang along, having a great time. :) One more ride on the People Mover, this time with the whole gang, rounded our time in MK for the day. We said goodbye to Billie for now, then the POFQ gang (me, Kathy, Irene and Evan) headed to the bus. I was excited to see my room and get settled into my home for the next three nights.

Wonderful first park day wit so many friends.

You really make me want to try Crystal Palace for breakfast. I haven't been able to get my family to do this yet.

Loved your photo shoot.

Perfect way to end your day in MK with 2 rides on the People Mover.

You had a really fun first day with all those friends. The Winnie the Pooh characters are great fun. You got a lot done at MK. :) It looks like you remained rain free, too.

For some reason, I'm picturing something like this:

Good call!
everything cleaned up and the offensive scene removed.
You know... I never thought of that scene as offensive. I guess when you grow up with something, you don't stop to think.
Must change that mindset.

I love when they do that. :)

Nice shot of you all. :)
Always such a fun shot. :)

I don't think I've ever seen that. And I've done some walk-ons... Huh.
So we took advantage of this and rode twice as we were hoping for the front row for a certain pose!
:thumbsup2

Never had the pleasure, but have seen her here on the Dis.

Very nice you could meet up. :)

Must admit I've never thought of that...

Sure sounds like a great start. :)
Billie with her Canadian girlies!
:goodvibes
Was it a tad... breezy?
There it is.
It must be done.
This is becoming a dying art!

That's great! I've never had that. Every time I go, there's usually a (mostly) empty theatre. This sounds like so much fun. :)

You really make me want to try Crystal Palace for breakfast. I haven't been able to get my family to do this yet.
I hadn't been these since our first family trip in 2009! I will definitely be adding it in the rotation more often. :)

It really was!

We were really lucky with the weather that day. It was a fabulous first day. :)

Pretty much!!
You know... I never thought of that scene as offensive. I guess when you grow up with something, you don't stop to think.
Must change that mindset.
I am always reminded of the Maya Angelou quote "when you know better, you do better." Growth mindset is everything.
There it is.
It must be done.

Did you even ride the People Mover without this shot???

It was the best. :goodvibes

Christmas trip news!!

Finally got my time off approved by my principal and booked my ticket this morning! $289 return on Air Canada direct from Toronto!! I was pretty pleased with that.

This trip is a reprise of last year's fun with Caroline. We are staying at Gran Destino again in a water view room with a great AP rate.

85 days to go!

🎄🎅

Wow! That's not bad at all.

That sounds like a decent price. Airfares for us are surprisingly high for this week. I blame the late Thanksgiving for the high prices. People have one less week to cram in all the Disney Christmas fun. :)

I was pleasantly surprised. Trying to book for PEI after Christmas is a whole other story...$$$$
