Why are IRS scam messages filled with such awkward grammar?

I just got a message with a synthesized voice, but the grammar is just so awkward. I know most of these scams originate in India, but they couldn't at least go over the script with someone who understands basic American English grammar? Or maybe not use slang terms like "cops" for what's supposed to be a formal message?

And once again expired after you will be taken under custody by the local cops as there are four serious allegations pressed on your name at this moment.

At least, you're not in as much trouble as I am. It's possible to work with the IRS for payment. The DEA in Texas keeps calling me. I'm expecting them to show up at my door any day to put me in prison forever. :rotfl2:

I'd be careful if they have anything like your real name and address. Some of these scam callers have lists of real name/address/phone combinations. There have been a few cases where the caller tried to get even with the recipient by calling 911 making claims of something violent happening.

This one in Colorado Springs was really strange. The 911 call resulted in a local school being placed in lockdown. I heard the actual 911 call, and the caller gives claims to be the actual homeowner (giving the correct name), but otherwise had a thick Indian accent and is using awkward words like "negro". They used caller ID spoofing equipment to mimic the number of the local sheriff's office too.

Here's the 911 call:

I love when they threaten to call the cops. I tell them my husband, the SHERIFF, will be waiting since he outranks the cops. I once demanded to speak to someone who speaks English. The response - "your father does speak English!" Told him that I know my dad can speak it too bad you can't. I must have been taken off of that list since they stopped calling after that.

These people are just amazing.
I once had the call: Your Computer has just received a virus and I am going to help you "fix it".
I had so much fun with this guy, it was great.
He was stumbling all over the place with me, he didn't even hang up once I started calling him out, he kept going.

From the Simpsons: Ah, where's the ANY key? Well I'm thirsty I'm going to have TAB: No time now, computer is back on! LOL

I posted this before, but you know where the call centers are when you call to make sure you CC doesn't get declined on vacation and you have to spell
I-O-W-A for the phone representative.

::yes:: Yeah, same thing is available through Revenue Canada. Or so the nice Nigerian guy who keeps calling assures me. His last message said "I gonna help you, I gonna help you with your many police problems..." :rotfl:(oh, my sides!)
They probably don't think about the poor grammar because there are people out there who do fall for these scams.
I guess there must be, but it's truly astonishing. :sad2:

Maybe we can be cellmates. The IRS has been actively prepared to arrest me for the past two years, so I'm betting my time will be up any day now.

Again I'd be cautious if they actually have your real name and address. The vast majority of these calls are random cold-calling, but some of these scamming organizations buy marketing lists with real names and addresses. Some will even call 911 (with claims of some violent crime happening or a home invasion) to get even with people - especially if they've messed with the scam callers rather than just hang up. It doesn't make sense since it's just a waste of time for them, but some seem to be petty enough to do it.

You mean these calls are scams?

Yeah, didn't you know?! Unlike those emails I have been getting from the King of Cameroon who needs help with his money. I should be getting my millions any day now! Only had to pay $5,000 upfront to help!

Thanks I'll keep that in mind but as I said my husband actually is/was a Deputy Sheriff, he has retired, and knows the police in our district. I'm not too concerned. I also have been lucky and not received any calls in quite awhile. I rarely answer my house phone and my cell alerts me to scam calls.

you might make fun of these people but I just paid them 500 dollars (immediately) to make my problems go away :scratchin
