Just wondering. I'm switching back to Chase as my bank and opted for Disney debit card. I know there's a difference between the Debit and Credit cards. I'm wondering if anyone has used just the Disney Chase Debit cards as opposed to the Disney Chase credit cards? Are the benefits different? Have you encountered any fees or extra charges is using the debit card? Is mine even worth using or should I go for the Disney Credit? From what I read it looks like extra fees are involved in going for the Credit Card which I why I'm reluctant to switch. The Disney Debit was a free option as part of my new account but I know that using Debit cards on purchases come with their own risks.

I bank with Chase and do have a Disney debit. I also have a Disney credit. The Disney visa comes with some better perks, though the debit includes a few perks like the special meet & greet in the parks and 10% off some retail and restaurant locations. You will not earn Disney reward dollars with the debit and you will not receive any special financing on a Disney vacation package with the debit. So, the credit definitely wins from that perspective. There are two options for the Disney credit card...one free and one with an annual fee.

I use the debit card, and I enjoy it. You do get a 10% discount on most purchases over $50 at the parks or the stores. There are other discounts, like on tours. The debit card also gets you access to the Chase cardmember character spots. You can find the list of all the current benefits on Disneydebit.com

The Disney credit card has the big draw of earning "points" that you can redeem for Disney-related rewards. If you like using cards for points-based rewards, like airline miles, then that would be a perk. Personally, I'm not a big credit card user, and prefer to use debit.

I've had one for years. I honestly only got it to tell the difference between my personal account, my joint account and my biz account, LOL.

Just FYI, there is no longer a $50 requirement for the 10% off at retail locations. I used my debit at a TX Disney outlet store in Nov and the CM said the $50 spend requirement was no more! Would have used my credit card, as I love earning points, but if left the card at home.
