Where do you shop for Husky boys clothes?

Hi all! :wave2:
I am sure I am not the only one with a husky boy (DS11) but it seems like there is just no where to buy clothes other than online... I have bought most of my son's clothes from Land's End and their stuff is usually great but sometimes pricey.. I know Target and Kohl's carry some husky sizes in jeans/pants but those don't seem to fit my son either!! He wears a 12H in pants from Land's End and usually an XL Husky in the tops. Of course we can move up to men's sizes (he can wear some men's mediums in t-shirts) but in general they are too long... he is not quite 5'.
Does anyone have a reliable source for Husky sizes in boys clothes??
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! :goodvibes

try jc penney or sears. I know they have plus sized girls clothes at Penneys that my daughter loved so I am sure they must have them for boys too.

I just discovered JC Penney for Husky for my son and I have also bought him some Husky stuff at Old Navy, usually at ON I have to order it online though. At JC Penney I bought it right in the store.

We usually end up at JC Penney. The selection for husky is small but at least they have one. Not many choices.
Sometimes Sears. To get a good fit in the waist, they usually end up way too long at places like Kohl's.

It is sad, that the regular sizes have endless racks of pants and husky has 2 or 3.

We've had the best luck at Kohl's. My son is the same age and size as your son, and I'll be so glad when the "skinny jeans" fad is over! :rotfl: He loves the Tony Hawk clothes, especially jeans - and the shirts are cut pretty boxy too. We were lucky enough to spot a few husky sizes in the store so he could try them on and figure out what size works best, then I order specifics online. At this point my son also wears a lot of athletic shorts and pants, those are easy thankfully! Not sure where you live, but Dick's Sporting Goods is having a great clearance with an extra 50% off including really great brands - found a ton of back to school and football stuff for my big guy!:cool1:

We have not been to Disney in about 5 years.
Last time I planned everything with help from the boards here and everything turned out great!
We will have 9 or 10 days. 4 days mid-week we have pre-planned activities with my son's Marching band group we are going with. We have park passes for those days only.
What are some near-by alternate activities we can plan. Maybe go to the ocean, other parks? Any ideas for the few days before or after Disney?

Also, any flight recommendations for Presidents week or car rental info would be appreciated!!!

Thanks !

This isn't exactly the best location for those sort of questions unless you're looking for things to do on a budget even so i'd say you're better off starting your own post. Try over on the Trip Planning or the Orlando Hotel and Attractions Boards :thumbsup2

For my DS9, I get his husky stuff ( all online ) at Lands End, Old Navy and Children's Place. He is 4 10.5 and about 99 lbs. I have found that adult shirts are okay to buy at Target but the pants never work for him.

The elastic waist pants and shorts from Children's Place are quite roomy and he fits fine in their regular sizes.

My youngest son has to wear husky, and the only place we have found clothes we really like, and were reasonably priced is at Crazy 8 or JcPenney.

My DS8 likes PS Aeropostale jeans. I usually wait for a sale because the are pricey but they do have husky. We have also bought Old Navy, JCPenney and The Children's place.

My son wore husky sizes at that same age, but when he turned 12 he shot up and thinned out and now he couldn't wear any of those husky clothes if he wanted to. :) I shopped at all the places mentioned previously the frustrating part was the limited selections. Good luck to you & I wouldn't buy too much in case he grows out of it as quickly as my son did! I learned my lesson on that growth spurt!:thumbsup2

We seem to have a lot of luck at the Children's Place. Many times, I have found Target's brand to not be too husky in some sizes. LOL

Do you know if Old Navy carries husky sizes in the stores, or just online?

I had great luck at J. C. Penney, Sears and Old Navy for sizes above 12H. For 10H and 12H I bought Gymboree for oldest DS as while a little bit more pricey initially with sales I could get them for less than at the other stores. Check his inseam though as once he hits a 14 or so you may have better luck going to the men's department and buying pants based on waist/inseam. I know I did.

Old Navy does carry husky in store. You have to really look at the tags though as they don't seem to separate them by color or anything.

I've bought a ton of stuff recently at Crazy 8. They have a lot of pants that have a stretchy top but look regular the rest of the way and DS says they're comfy.

My younger stepson is husky and we've battled with this for years! I've found the best jeans to get him tend to be Levi's. JcPenney and Dillards carry them here for around $22. He takes a 12H and the waist and length fit him well. We've tried Old Navy, Walmart, etc and everything that fits in the waist is way too long in length. I've been able to find some 12H Levi's at Once Upon a Child too for about $10. I have had success finding him shorts at Old Navy and Aeropostle that were size 28 or 29 waist but its hit or miss finding those sizes. He tends to prefer athletic type shorts though.

As for shirts, some XL boys shirts fit, some mens small fit and some mens medium fit. It all depends on the style. He loves wearing Aero shirts and we get him medium and the length fits him well. Same with Disney store shirts.

You can get husky size jeans at Old Navy right now for $!3.00/pair. There is also an online code for 10% off. I just stocked up for the new school year at about $11.60 per pair.
