WISH-friendly, of course!!

I'm in a bit of a rut lately, and looking for quick ideas for things I can pick up if I'm out running errands at lunch time.

We've got Wendy's, McDonalds, Subway, Whataburger, Jack in the Box, Taco Bueno, Taco Bell, KFC (and more) around my office.

Right now, my favorite fast food lunch is Wendy's Mandarin Chicken Salad (with just a teensy bit of dressing.)

Any other ideas? (I'm looking for Weight Watchers friendly ideas, but I'm interested in what my Atkins friends grab on the run, too!)

No suggestions if they have to be WW friendly ;) You should add WW to the subject line, I'll bet you get lots and lots of replies if you do :)

Although, you are so popular you will probably get lots and lots of replies anyway :teeth:

Subway is always one of my favorites and it is so WW friendly. I really like to get a tuna (made with light mayo) on wheat. No cheese and lots of veggies. It really fills me up...in fact maybe I will do that today! :)

I really like Wendy's grilled chicken sandwich. Not too many veggies but they use a honey mustard sauce rather than mayo which is nice. The sandwich is only 6 pts. I usually pair it with a side salad or maybe a small cup of chili in the winter.

I really like the new grilled chicken salads from McD's but I don't like the low-fat vinegrette so if I get these I usually get them when I am on my way home and I use my own light dressing on them.

When I get a Taco Bell craving I usually go for the steak burrito supreme for 8 pts.

Hope this helps... :)

Mmmmmm -- a KFC roasted chicken wrap with no sauce (I get hot sauce on the side and dip) -- 5 pts.

If you're really hungry, add on a side of mashed potatoes and gravy -- add 3 pts.

Here are some of the lower Taco Bell entrees:

Chicken Soft Taco - 4 pts.
Gordita Supreme Beef or Chicken or Steak - 6 pts.
Chicken Border Bowl w/o dressing - 10 pts (but high in sodium)
Pinto Beans with Cheese - 3 pts.

I looked these up on the website a while ago, and found the values on the points finder.

Mmmmm... a tuna on wheat from Subway sounds yummy.

And I hadn't realized that there was ANYTHING "safe" at KFC!!! The wrap and mashed potatoes sound really good. :)

Lots of good choices already! I probably shouldn't have started this right before lunchtime.
:o

:p

I like Wendy's Taco Salad Supreme. I'm not on WW, but my friend who is told me it's around 7 or 8 points (if you don't use the sour cream and if you skip the chips). It's really filling and high in fiber. Yummy!!

I also like Taco Bell's bean burrito for the same reason. That and a chicken soft taco is within my calorie range for lunch (around 450).

Okay I know you wanted FF joints - but I buy S O and put in freezer at work (all varieties) and then I pop one in the micro - take to my desk and eat.

Then I go out to do errands - I am not quite safe yet if I leave the building hungry.......... I am afraid I will be too tempted to stop and have something WW UNFRIENDLY!!

And the real upside is I look I am having my lunch at my desk and working and then I go for the full hour :D

Then later in the afternoon I generally have an orange or my tootise roll pop as my treat!

See - ya I just finished Fiesta Chicken and now I am out the door for those errands we were talking about!!!

At Subway I like the Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki Sandwich (7.5 points) or the turkey breast on whole wheat (5.5) with lots of veggies. Both of those really fill me up.

Do you have a Burger King? You could get 4 pc chicken tenders (4 pts), sweet & sour dipping sauce (1) and a garden salad with ff ranch dressing (1) for a total of 6 pts.

If I'm going to run errands and want to stop & get something while I'm out, I will usually check points at Dottie's site before I go.

Hope this helps!

Oooo! I like this thread. Although - it make not look good that I know all of this. ;)

Wendy's - love love love that Taco Salad! Like a previous poster, I skip the chips. I don't care for sour cream so that's out for me. The chili makes a great 'dressing' so I don't need the salsa either. Yummm....

McDonald's - The Grilled Chicken Casear salad (5 pts). I don't care for Paul Newman dressings so if we are there, I just skip it. The chicken is seasoned enough that I don't need the dressing. Or, if I want dressing, I use the fork trick with the casear.

Subway! I know some of the sandwiches are low in points but they don't seem to put a lot of meat on the sandwich, so... once again I go for the salad! My favorite is the Tuna Salad with lots of veggies. No dressing for me - I just mix in the tuna. :) They can make a salad out of any sandwich.

Jack In The Box - that's a tough one for me. It is hard to find something there so I tend to skip it. If I had to go there, I would probably get a taco - no cheese with extra lettuce.

Taco Bell! I love Taco Bell. Weird, eh? I know. :) Taco Salad - no sour cream, no green onions plus lettuce. DON'T eat the shell!! Yummy and 9.5 points if you count those goodies I left off. I also love the Chicken Fiesta Burrito. 8 pts of YUMBO and very filling. :) Another meal choice for me: 2 tacos, no cheese, extra lettuce - 7 pts total.

Just as an FYI - I was taking the cheese, sour cream, etc off of my food long before I started a weight loss program. I don't want anyone to think I am becoming fanatical about my food choices and not enjoying them. :) And I have been a salad fan all my life.

Bebr! Look how wise you are these days. Eating before you leave to do errands. Excellent plan!

I like Subway the most as well. I usually get the seafood salad (only if they use the low-fat mayo) on a salad and no dressing, the seafood salad is dressing enough? yum! There is a newer sammich some kind of ham on honey wheat bread, low pts, on Dotti's site.

I love Wendy's taco salad too - no chips or sour cream - but very good ;)

Taco bell sounds good! ohhh, haven't been there is a long time!

French Onion soup at Panera Bread - very good and low pts.

I have read the Veggie burger at BK is good and I think it's 7 pts.
I would probably splurge on a whopper jr though :)

sorry I don't know all the pts off top of my head, but I know they're on Dotti's site. I have it all on my palm pilot and look up before I order :) he he he I love being tech swavy - or at least looking like I am!

I like that Wendy's will give the extra tomato on request. I always get that for a little veggie boost on the grilled chicken sandwich.
