What's the most obscure character you have ever encountered in any of the parks?

Rare one for us include:

Darkwing Duck
Daisy and Donald together
Clopin
Frollo
The evil queen from Sleeping beauty-but ds wouln't get near her, so no autograph or pic.

My Mom is dying to see Beast on our trip in Nov so if anyone knows a good spot for him we would appreciate it.

As for myself-I MUST see Kermit and Miss Piggy!!! The Muppets were my all-time faves as a kid and I really want a pic and autograph of them!!

but we got Gov. Radcliffe in July 1996, in Animation Court at MGM. What was really nice was I was in line with Ds(4 yo at the time) and we waited patiently. Just as we were next a young girl about 12 pushed her way in front of us and shoved her book in his face. He put his hands up, shook his head no, and pointed her to the back of the line. He then signed my sons book, played with his hair, etc... and promptly left!!!

We also got Baloo in AK in November 2000. We just happened upon him in a grove on the way out. There were only about 5 other people there.

Last summer we ran into Capt. Hook and Mr. Smee as we were coming out of POC. No one was there so we got right in line. AS Capt. Hook was signing my book, Mr. Smee reached down and untied my shoes. We laughed and as Mr. Smee signed my book, Capt. Hook tried to take my jewelry. Lots of fun!!!

I have seen the Beast with Belle at Epcot/France. I never saw him again so I wish I would have got a picture!

I don't know if he's actually rare or not, but we saw the Hunchback in the France pavilion.
We also saw the Fairy Godmother and the Sherrif of Nottingham with Tweedledum/Tweedledee outside the Magic Kindgom before Early entry.
I got a picture of Hubby w/ Jafar outside Morroco and He seems to find Mr. Smee and Captain Hook together on every trip and they pose for a cute pic all together.
We met up with King Louie in Adventure land. Meeko actually helped avert a **fight** (at WDW! what were we thinking!) My smart :-)confused: ) hubby had been waiting at the WRONG place and lets just say that if he hadnt said: I'm stupid, I'm sorry, Hey look, there is Meeko!! then he would have been toast!
:D :D
My favorite character memory though is from our first trip together. We were walking toward the Tower of terror and suddenly my DH shouts "GOOFY" and goes tearing down the road to give him a hug!! It was so cute. Prior to that he was not interested in "meeting" the characters. It was for little kids.
(now he has to give Minnie a kiss on her nose every time he sees her.....!)

Thanks PatriciaH for the tip, I guess we'll have to make camp there ;) he is my Mom's favorite and I'm sure it will be the highlight of her trip!

My most obscure is Foulfellow.. isn't he from Pinnochio? He was out with Pinocchio and Jafar...

Definitely Foulfellow for me too. That was when I was a child and he was alone. I never put it together that he was from Pinnochio. Duh.

Cheebokah (sp) and an ewok. We were exiting star wars and they came up behind me like they had exited the ride also. Made me jump about 5 feet:D Then it was fun and a great photo op.:bounce:

On my last two trips (Jan and May 2003), I met some characters I considered pretty rare. My rarest are Malificent, Little John from Robin Hood, Stromboli, and Jiminy Cricket. :) :) :) I still can't believe I found Jiminy Cricket! :teeth:

We saw Jiminy Cricket and Gideon, along with Pinocchio at MGM.

We also saw Mr. Smee with Captain Hook by POC.

Also saw a green army man in the parking lot at MGM -- he was marching up and down the tram line.

Ok, who is Stromboli? We saw him a couple of weeks ago and I asked his handler who he was - she quickly told me his name then would not anwer anymore questions or repeat his name. First time, I had ever encountered a very rude CM.

I think Stromboli is in Pinochhio as well.

I don't understand the rarity with Jiminy Cricket. I saw him twice on our 2000 trip! Same with Daisy Duck!

We've been to WDW and Disneyland seven times now and I'm kicking myself that we just started collecting autographs the trip before last. In 2000, we saw Brer Bear and Brer Fox outside Splash Mountain and in 2001, we saw Peter Pan and Wendy near Expo Hal. At MNSSHP, we saw Quasimodo, the Big Bad Wolf, Malificent, and the Queen. On Earth Day 2003, we saw Jiminy Cricket. This past week, the Snow Queen was among the villains in the character meet and greet in Fantasyland. I still have yet to meet Brer Rabbit. He's an evasive, sneaky little devil.

Remember when they used to have the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtels in MGM? Little sister and I have a picture.

Reading who is rare here from everyone is really making me wish that my fiancee and I had gotten autographs when we went in September. On our short list of rare meets were Geppetto and Foulfellow, Friar Tuck, Baloo and King Louie, Beast, Clopin, Terk, Chang, Gov. Radcliffe, Prince John, the Queen of Hearts, Jafar, both Tweedles, Mad Hatter, and Daisy Duck. I had never seen so many characters in any of my previous four trips. We also went to a Princess Breakfast, Garden Grille for Lunch, and LTT for dinner. We couldn't have been happier.

Let's see my most obsecure characters I've found so far:
Foulfellow
Gideon
Mr. Penguin
Jimmny Cricket
Launchpad McQucak
Snow Queen
Pocahontas
Meeko
Judge Frollo
Peter Pan
Wendy
Rebecca Cunnigham
The Beast
Big Al

I've also got some rare group photos:
Rebecca Cunningham, Baloo, and King Louie
Foulfellow, Pinnichio, and Geppetto
Friar Tuck and Robin Hood

I have some advice for those who are looking for the Bre'r crew. Check out splash mountain around 10 am. If your lucky you might get to ride Splash with one of the two Bre'r. Also be right at Winnie the Pooh right after it opens and you might get the chance to ride with some of the pooh characters. Also Alice & Mad Hatter ride the teacups around 10 am. At least this was the way it worked last year. I'm still hoping this holds true this year because I loved riding with Pooh Bear.

Brer Bear and Brer Fox...also next to Splash Mountain...rare because Song of the South hasn't been (and probably never will be) released publicly in the US. Those of us who remember seeing the film in theatres as children are the last generation of Disney-goers who really know the story (unless you did what I did which was buy a copy from a source in England).

The Sheriff of Nottingham...at the Rose and Crown pub in EPCOT.

Lady and the Tramp...many years ago near Cinderella's Golden Carousel.

Mr. Toad....many years ago in front of his ride, the late Mr Toad's Wild Ride.

Not bonafide Disney characters but part of Playhouse Disney...a friend of mine and her 3 year old saw The Wiggles at Disney Studios.

I don't know how rare this is but I've only seen it once...We saw Goofy walking with his son walking up to Cinderella's Castle. They were looking around and pointing at things just like they were on vacation. It was so cute!

I have a picture of me and my sister with a character with a giant orange head (the fruit orange) just outside the exit of the Tiki Birds by the juice stand. It was taken on our first trip in "75.

Don't have a clue who he was....

I also saw the Mayor of Main Street. He had a sash on that said "Mayor" and was talking to a whole bunch of random people. Very cool. :smooth:
