What does riff-raff mean to you?

This is inspired by "worse things about PopCentury. My first thought was poor choice of words. Riff-raff to mean means people who don't conform with the "norm". Their standards or expectations may not be as high as one would like them to be.

Riff Raff is a character in the Rocky Horror Picture Show. That is the first thing I think of when I hear riff raff.

Seriously? RiffRaff comes at all level of income. Recently on mommy swap or one of those shows, there was a very affluent yuppie mansion living california mom switched with a medium income, backwoods cabin dwelling tennessee mom. The children from the more humble background were polite, respectful, and sweet. The children in california were a NIGHTMARE WILD BRATTY OUT OF CONTROL GANG OF SOONBEINJUVIE. I have been to very expensive hotels where the later were found, and the parents were just as bad.

so is riffraff unique to value resorts?

But to go further...

people who think they are allowed to smoke under the non-smoking sign.

people who allow their kids to run wild, and think that you are in THEIR way.

less educated people

people who don't bus their trays in the food court

etc, etc, etc.

Wow, you are classifying people who can't afford to stay in deluxes or mods as riff-raff? Since when do good manners have anything to do with the amount of money a person makes. To me good manners is being respectful of all people and keeping your thoughts to yourself as to what they can afford or can't afford.

For your information, many people stay at the values because that is how they choose to spend their money. It has nothing to do with how "educated" they are. I'm currently working on my 2nd masters degree and have stayed at a couple of deluxes, but I'm more turned off by your snobby assumptions than by someone who doesn't bus their trays in a food court.

The woman that got on the monorail across from us and propped her let up on the window while wearing a very short skirt giving us a nice view of her thong from below! They got off at the Grand Floridian stop and it was really late, assumed they were staying there. Riff-Raff has nothing to do with money but everything to do with class.
