We are trying to plan a trip with my sister, my neice, my mom and dad, and ds and me. I want to go in Feb because I know the crowds will be low, but my sister wants longer park hours and more special shows, like fantasmic. My mom wants warmer weather. So what are things like in the spring? We are thinking in about a year and a half.

we went last May and will go again this coming May, I love that time of year......great weather low crowds! Warm enough to swim in the day , a little cool at night, absolutly perfect !

It depends when you go in May. We have a really bad habit of going in between the long weekends in Canada and the US. Also some conferences have a huge impact. When we went for E3 (the biggest electronics expo in North America if not the world) there were a ton of wives with their kids there that were later joined by their husbands. Our plane home was literally packed with people coming back from E3 and Disneyland. So I would avoid the week of E3 and going around the two long weekends if possible.

I've heard rumors that E3 will be considerably smaller in 2007. They are making some major changes to it. It is going to be May 16-18 in 2007, in case anyone wants to know.

April is pretty busy with spring break. But, because its busy, they have longer hours and more entertainment on the schedule. They often have good specials during that time as well- like kids free or adults for the kids price.

Early May is a good time to go. The crowds are pretty managable, and the entertainment schedule is usually pretty good.

Thanks guys. I think I will talk them into the first week in May. I don't want to be gone any time after the 15th. Does anyone know park hours for May??

open till 8 or 9 during the week last year.......Wish I could truly remember...we are doing the first week too.

thinking about May 15th. Busy before E3 (whatever that is) ??? ya think? or wayyy stinking too early to know?

thanks

We have always gone one of the last two weeks of May and didn't think the crowds were bad. Of course around Memorial Day weekend there were a lot more people there, but it quieted down after the weekend. We are going again in 07 the last week of May.

Don't forget they are doing the Pirate's 3 Premier at DL next year. I believe the movie comes out around Memorial Day so the Premier will be before that (I don't have any idea when), that is sure to bring larger crowds. I have no idea how it works as I have never been to a premier.

Just wanted to second the E3 being smaller this year. It's by invitation only and it's totally different, so I'm guessing it will not impact as much. (Dh is a video game developer and I swear, next time he goes to that or GDC I'M COMING TO DL!!!)

That's going to make a huge difference. It used to be where ALL the new video games premiered; so basically it was like the computer equivilent to the Sundance Film Festival and celebrities and such showed up. This year it looks like they won't be doing the video games so much. I wouldn't even worry about it anymore.

I'm wondering if anyone went during the week of Easter (Easter Sunday through the following Sunday?) If so, how were the crowds?
