Heading out tomorrow and I know it will be hot. Are water bottles (hydro flask type) allowed in the parks and if so, are there multiple places for refills?

Thanks for any infomation!

Water bottles are permitted.

There are very few if any dedicated refill stations, but you can go to any quick service that has fountain beverages and they'll give you free cups of ice water. That's what we refill our bottles with throughout the day.

There are water refill stations in all of the parks. In addition to requesting water at a quick service location, if you enter 'water refill' in the search field of the MDE app, a map of locations in the parks and at Disney resorts is displayed.

We carry metal water bottles with us without any problems.

Oh wow, I am looking at that now! Thank you so much!

If you bring a metal water bottle with you, just make sure to take it out of your bag when you go thru security. I always take mine out of my bag and hold it in front of me when I go thru the scanner. Easy peasy.

There are actually lots of dedicated refill stations! Each park has at least three, but most have significantly more than that. Disney Springs too!

You can refill your water bottles by getting cups of cold water for free at quick service places.

Perhaps I was a bit extreme in saying "few if any" but I don't think there are anywhere as many refill stations as I would like to see at a large space like this. Ideally, there would be a fountain with the refill thing at every restroom.

That said, the free ice water more than does the job and it's so much cooler, so perhaps Disney doesn't have the demand some other places do install more stations with the availability of the free water.

Thanks for all of this information! We will use both the filling stations, using the app map, as well as asking for quick service ice water!

I actually stopped carrying water bottles a very long time ago. It's super easy to get ice water so why have the extra bulk and weight of carrying something else around.

I think it depends on what time of year you visit. We visit in August so carry water bottles both to ensure we drink enough and to have it easily ready while in lines, etc. staying hydrated in the heat of summer is extremely important!

If we visited when it was cooler I can see possibly not carrying one but pretty sure we still would to ensure we stay hydrated. We often forget to eat while at Disney and if we had to stop for water we’d probably forget to drink too.

Just got back last night. Plenty of places to refill water bottles. Also, quick service in parks and random resorts gave out cups of ice. Animal Kingdom seemed to be the most difficult to get ice.
