Victoria & Albert's nonalcoholic pairings

Does anyone know anything about this? The restaurant has wine pairings, but it also has "zero proof pairings" and doesn't say anything about what that is. I'm on medication that doesn't go with alcohol so I don't drink-- but even if I could, I don't like wine. Or beer. I just don't like the taste of alcohol. When I did drink in the past it was always sweet frozen things or cocktails with fruity liquors.

So while it sounds appealing to have a nonalcoholic drink paired with each course, I'm wondering what exactly those drinks are? Is it something that tastes like wine?

I've not had the opportunity to try it but have seen reviews raving about it. So much so that I am planning to get it even though I do enjoy alcohol. I found the below article from 2022 that goes into a bit more detail about how they designed these pairings. I think the price has gone up and can't guarantee these are all the same cocktails but should give you an idea of the kinds of drinks you might find. If you do get it, please come back and tell us about it (and the food too, of course!).

I've had this a couple of times (2023 & 2024) and its a mocktail pairing with eat course. It was almost entirely changed between the two times I went - I guess they change it as the menu changes. I also looked at the 2022 article linked above and I'd only experienced a couple of those.

I liked most of them and they generally went very well with each dish. A couple I didn't like much but I think that's the luck of the draw. They are pretty varied flavours, and didn't taste like wine - well except one I didn't like which tasted like port (probably why I didn't like it!)

The only thing I would note is that it's quite a lot to physically drink - 8 or 9 mocktails. I find there is already a lot of food due to so many courses, so I was really really full by the end of the night with the mocktails as well.

The same on this end although I would find the wine pairings more intriguing. One or two glasses of wine in total is fine for the multi course meal for me.

I haven’t tried them but they do a non alcoholic welcome drink that’s along the lines of what’s offered for the pairing and it’s always tasty. I’m always so full by the end I couldn’t imagine doing a drink pairing I usually get one drink at the start of the meal
