Vancouver airport/flight question

Is an 11:30am flight doable from Vancouver airport?
Yes, if you do walk-off and can catch a cab without a wait. I have done so in the past. There will be a bit more traffic if your disembarkation date is a weekday, with normal morning travelers, but still doable I think with walk-off.

I have seen comments that if luggage is put out to find in the terminal when your time is called, the tlme to find your bags plus lines for immigration and cabs can be much longer, so you might not make 11:30, because you also have to allow time to go thru US immigration at the airport.

Safe travels!

Not according to DCL, no. They recommend 11:45 at the earliest. Could you do it? Probably. Might it be stressful? Probably. Do you want to end your vacation with a chaotic dash to the airport? Personally, I don't.

Also, if you go by Disney's guidelines and for some reason you arrive back in port late (rare, but it happens), they'll help you out. If you didn't follow their time guidelines, you're on your own.

In Vancouver, you go through US Customs and Immigration at the Vancouver airport so you need to allow extra time for that. It isn't just security. We were "randomly selected" for extra screening in Vancouver and had to go wait in some other room for a long time at customs to talk to a border agent. We had allowed a lot of time so we were fine, but just know that these things can happen.

Here are the official guidelines: https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/guest-services/ground-transportation/

I agree with walk-off - but possibly even faster than a cab is taking the Canada Line to the airport. You have to walk about 5 min to the subway station but from there it's a 20-25 min ride to the airport, super easy.

Mayyyyyybe but only really for specific circumstances. Source: I live in Vancouver and fly in and out of YVR all the time.

If you do express walk off and get off the ship as early as possible and take the Canada line (faster than a taxi especially in the morning), you can arrive at the airport by 9am. That gives you 2.5 hours for customs and security which honestly is not a lot of time for both of those things unless you have Nexus/Global entry.

If this is a usual Disney Alaska cruise then disembarkation is a Monday. Mondays are zoos at YVR in general even when it isn't cruise season because of business travel. And since you also have to go through US customs if it isn't a domestic flight, that also really eats into the time.

With Nexus I can pretty comfortably arrive at the airport 90 minutes before my flight and still have time to get a snack but otherwise you are potentially looking at long lines.
