Ok I got a bit concerned when I read someone wasnt admitted into the park wearing a halter top when I myself bought a couple tube tops and halter tops for the trip since it will be so hot. I spoke to someone in Grand Gatherings that transfered me to someone in Guest Relations at the actual park and was told by Olive (yep that really was her name) that they really are cracking down on those tops because these are family parks. She didnt say they werent allowed but mentioned tops that were riske(sp?) so now Im still not sure if I can wear my halter and tube tops. Anyone out there wear some to WDW recently? I mean Im 32 Im not gonna wear anything indecent :confused3

We just got back yesterday. There were plenty of halter tops, most were very tasteful. Tube tops I don't remember so much. Orlando is in Florida, it's hot for cryin' out loud. Where did you read about not being admitted into the park, I'm just curious. :sunny: I'm sure if someone were hanging out on all sides or it were something see-through I could understand that. I would think what you have would be fine!!

OK, I just read about rule enforcing. Wow, maybe because what she had on was more like a swimsuit top or something??? That's a new one on me too!!

tube tops fall down. they do! I've seen it happen. Kids don't need to see that.

Halter tops are not bad if they are tasteful, but it sounds like the person denied entrance in the other post was wearing a very revealing one (they said it was like a swimsuit top, which is not allowed in MK).

We were there last weekend and saw many women in halter/tube tops. We certainly didn't have a problem with them. Most women know whether or not they can appropriately wear halter/tube tops. The overwhelming majority of women that we saw looked great and very comfortanle in some pretty extreme temperatures.

Thanks everyone! I feel better, I was worried because I did buy several halters and 1 tube top for the trip because of the heat. I appreciate everyone sharing their experiences..

Who is in favor of a published quantitative standard, something like "this much of this body part, and that much of that body part, may be exposed".

The same rule would apply to boys as well as girls.

Also, aren't tube tops hot because they cling to the body?

I wore a halter neck to Port Aventura last month in Spain. I came off a ride and had lost my bra and the top went up. It was a very fast coaster, so will be more careful in WDW.

A while back, I saw two women turned away at MGM. DD and I were behind them in line to enter the park. They both had on halter type tops, but the fact that they tied at the top wasn't the problem. These women were both very well endowed and the tops were cut very skimpy. I swear, I was afraid just standing behind them in line. A wrong move and something was going to jump out that I didn't want to see. They were told they would have to put on different shirts before they could enter the park. Let's just say they didn't leave happy nor quietly!

Normally I wear the tops with the spaghetti straps.

However, a few years ago I wore a tasteful tube top, and I truly felt uncomfortable the whole time. I always thought, "what if a child behind me, carried by their parent in close, crowded areas, decides to grab the top and pull at it"? I was uncomfortable most of the time I wore it. Was not worth it to me.

While it is a personal preference, I now am alot more comfortable just wearing my tops with spaghetti straps. I still get a nice tan, yet no goofy thoughts on "what could happen if . . . ". :thumbsup2

In April an older lady (mom) was wearing a halter on Everest and her breast came out. No one noticed it until she was stepping out of the train and then of course, when the photos were displayed (it looked like another head)!

Tank tops are great especially if you have nice shoulders and toned arms. They also hold better (build in bra or you can have a sports bra underneath).

I think tube tops are tacky and meant for the very young. Very few people want to know how old the girls are. :teeth:

I was there the first week in June and it was really hot, even for Florida and I saw a LOT of bikini tops, halter tops and men without shirts walking around. Perhaps they got complaints and that's why they are cracking down a bit.

I would argue that there are a great many people who have no idea what kind of clothing they can really wear without exposing things that aren't meant to be exposed. Check out "What Not to Wear" sometime and you'll see what I mean-or even the thread we had going for a while about being shocked at the parks.

The bottom line is, Disney is a public place, full of families with children. What might be appropriate at the beach or even at a family picnic might not work at Disney.

When DH and I were there in March '05, we saw a double whammy: a woman in a tube top DRESS. Whenever I see someone in a tube top, I want to come behind them and pull it down. Not b/c I'm some sort of perv, but to prove to them how INANE of a clothing object they are.....

As another poster mentioned, wouldnt' they be hot anyway b/c they're tight on your body?

I hope tube tops are allowed! I am arriving in Disney on Thurs the 17th and having a Disney wedding on the 21st! :bride: For those 4 days before the wedding, I have 4 (very appropriate, very covering ) tube tops that will help prevent tan lines (my wedding dress is stapless and I have been trying all summer to keep my shoulders EVEN! :cool1: ) So I think that as long as the top you wear is appropriate and covers all, there shouldn't be a problem. :thumbsup2

You want to go up behind someone and pull down a piece of their clothing and THE CLOTHING is the problem?

I don't think so.
