:confused3 my dad needs drawstring only sweats or PJ bottoms/loungewear...due to medical issues...I found some sweats through J. Crew and sent them, they are ALMOST right,,does anyone have any idea where I might find some that have no elsatic whatsoever at the waist? Any medical personel /scrubs like this with drawstring only? This is hard as he is in Florida and I am in Illinois.

Thanks so much!

Pam

We had to find the same for my dad - we went to every store possible and kept looking. Have you done a google search? It's amazing what can be found - just be sure to add "men's drawstring no elastic pajama pants". Pretty sure we bought my dad Hanes.

Looks like Hanes may still have some:

Good luck! :goodvibes
p.s. Maybe the elastic could be removed by a tailor?

Not sure of the medical reasons so this may not work for you. We found drawstring elastic waisted sweats for DH's last surgery. We bought them a couple of sizes bigger so the elastic waist was like it wasn't there and didn't rub. Got those at Wal-mart.

thank you, do these hanes ones in the link have no elastic what-so-ever? He would like that they are 100% cotton, but I don't want to order them if they have any elastic...he would be so disappointed.

Mysteria, I just ordered some off of the walmart site as they said not abvailable in stores..I hope they are not the same type, as he cannot have ANY elastic at all...thank you both for your help!

I would call Hanes to be sure - it doesn't day anything about elastic in the description, but to be safe, give them a call.

My dad's Hanes did not have any elastic at all.

Good luck!

if you are looking at scrubs-
one website that I have looked at and ordered stuff at is www.allheart.com they have good prices and I get emails all the time for sales and discounts

Actually I need some drawstring sweat pants myself.. Wasn't aware that some Walmarts carry them, so I guess I'll check there..

Love the DIS for helpful info like this..:thumbsup2

You can definitely find scrubs with just a drawstring, they're usually cheaper than the ones with elastic. I'm not really a fan of the scrub material, I have no clue why my classmates say they're comfortable enough for PJ's, but they do come with just a drawstring. I've actually found the scrubs from Walmart to be the most comfortable fabric, they're the softest anyway. I buy the ones with an elastic in the back at least, because otherwise they fall off me, but I've seen without also.

Have you considered maybe just pulling the elastic out of a pair of sweatpants and leaving the drawstring in?

yeah, he needs them A.S.A.P. and I am 1400 miles away :sad2:most I have found have the elastic almost sewn in...I would be tearing the entire waist apart. I ordered some off the walmart website and will head over to ours tomorrow, thanks again everyone, I REALLY appreciate it!

Any store that sells nursing uniforms will have unisex scrubs with drawstrings. They have "Grey's Anatomy" scrubs that are unisex. They cost more, but people who watch the show must be willing to pay it because I see them all over the place.

I, myself, prefer elastic waists and elastic cuffs at the ankle. The former is in the minority and the latter is on the Endangered Species of Uniforms list.
