Considering a treehouse villa ( it work for our group size). I have always wondered about them.
If anyone could share some information about them it would be helpful (both good and bad)
Im in the very early planning stages and just trying to gather as much information as I can

Good value but removed from SSR, its a nice walk.

If you have cars there is a limit of one car per villa...which is kind of ridiculous considering how many they sleep...it should at least be two cars.

The most common negative comments I’ve read had to do with the sleeping surfaces. The bed in the main bedroom is a queen, in the second bedroom is a queen, and the third bedroom has bunk beds that might be smaller than twins - I’ve read they’re not very comfortable for adults. Then there’s a sleeper sofa in the living room - I’m not sure whether it’s a queen or double - and a twin size sleeper chair.

You can probably get some more information on the DVC Resorts forum .

They are very remote and far removed from the rest of SSR. They are nothing like the other SSR villas and remind me more of the cabins at Fort Wilderness Campground. Very rustic. They were not refurbished when the rest of SSR was done a couple of years ago.

They are elevated, so you have to climb stairs to enter. There are a few HA treehouses which have ramps. Each treehouse has its own deck and charcoal grill. As has been mentioned, there is only one parking space per treehouse. Additional vehicles must be parked in the resort parking lot. The treehouses also have their own separate gated entrance but your MagicBands or key cards will also work at the resort main entrance.

Buses loop through the treehouse area and can take you to the Springs bus stop. From there, you can catch another bus to wherever you are going. There is a boat dock for Disney Springs located in the treehouse area.

There are no restaurants or snack bars in the treehouse area. There is one quiet pool (no slide), which is going to undergo refurbishment from Oct. 3 thru mid-December of this year.

There are 2 bathrooms. One bathroom is located near the 2 smaller bedrooms. The other bathroom is located off of the master bedroom and you must walk through the bedroom to get to it. There is a Q bed in each of the two larger bedrooms and bunk beds in the 3rd bedroom. The bunks are small and meant for young children. There is also a Q sleeper sofa and twin sleeper chair in the living room.

The kitchen is fully stocked with enough plates, bowls cups and mugs for 9 people. The cutlery can sometimes come up short but housekeeping will bring what you need if there aren't enough to go around. The refrigerator is full-size and has a freezer if you have ice packs or water bottles that you want to freeze. There's a stacked washer and dryer located between the hall bathroom and the 2nd bedroom. There should be some laundry detergent for a couple of loads.

One more thing...it's dark at night there. Very dark. If you decide to walk back to your treehouse rather than take the internal bus after a day at the parks, use your phone's flashlight. After all, it is a wooded area in Florida. There's going to be wildlife.

I have never stayed in one of the tree houses, but we have taken the boat past them many times from OKW. I don't think I would ever consider staying in one of them, I don't care for the FL woods and water atmosphere. I would be afraid of snakes and alligators (I have heard it said that every body of water in FL has an alligator in it). I know this isn't what you asked but this is the creepy feeling I get when we go past them. As previous poster said, they are very isolated.

There are signs posted at the foot of every treehouse which warn about snakes and alligators. I haven't seen either at the treehouses but have seen alligators at BCV and snakes at CSR. It's Florida. They're going to be there.

The biggest drawback to the THV's is transportation. They have an internal bus that takes you to the main resort, but it's faster to walk to the Grandstand to catch the park buses. If you drive yourself to the parks then the THV's are a great place. If you are 100% reliant on Disney buses don't stay there.
