Hello! According to the MDE app, there are 65 days until I'm "home" in WDW! :cool1: Just wondering, who/when do you tip cast members in WDW, aside from servers at TS restaurants? My group is 15 people, so even if we split up into 2 smaller groups for TS meals, we'll fit into the 18% automatic gratuity policy for dining. I'm more so just asking if you tip transportation drivers, bell services, Mousekeeping, etc? And if so, how much is a reasonable tip? TIA! :)

No you don’t tip Disney Transportation.
Yes, it is customary to tip Bell Services.
Housekeeping tipping is optional, even in the US.

If you search for threads with tipping in the title you will see multiple threads and discussions on amounts.

Tipping is normal for private transportation & Minnie Vans, but not other Disney modes. Bell services is typically $1-2 per bag. And tipping for housekeeping is very personalized, some people tip, some don’t. If you choose to tip, most suggest tipping daily, as the housekeepers may be different each day.

Thank you so much! How much do people typically tip for housekeeping, if you know?

It really is a personal decision but may depend on how many people in your room & how disorganized the room is. We’re 2 adults, keep our stuff organized & put away. We left $5 each day for years. But we recently increased to 10. I realized $5 is what I left 20 years ago so I wanted to increase it. But that’s my personal choice, I’m sure the housekeeper would be grateful for any amount.

We tip housekeeping $5 per person per service day (so $10 if there are two of us and $15 if there are three), but since we mostly stay value and moderate, they are only coming every other day. We keep a tidy and organized room so it doesn’t take them long to complete it.

The subject of tipping usually results in arguments on this site. Tipping is mostly a matter of personal preference in many cases except where it is commonly accepted you tip such as your server at a restaurant or Bell Services. If you never see the housekeeping person and they are simply doing their job, I don't get the rationale that tipping is essential. IF you ask them for extra towels/tea/coffee/soap/etc., then tipping to me would make more sense. I don't see the need to tip someone who is just doing their job and you might never even see or interact with them.

When Disney ran those DME buses to/from the airport, there was a sign posted at the front of the bus that indicated 'tipping is permitted for exceptional service'.

Housekeeping is very discretionary.
For us I learned years ago about the other hot topic here on occasion… I tip the housekeeping “garbage person” 20 walking in and never get a knock on my door.
