The Widow & the Spinster Take a Bougie WBTA Cruise That Didn't Suck! - Looks Like Baby Food! 1/10

Ugh. Too early!
Yup way too early. And it happened to me again this morning.
Perhaps this is why the maintenance guy was so anxious to leave...

:duck:
Our farts smell like rose petals! :snooty:
Unfortunate. Sounds like maybe it sat for a while.
Pretty much, which is why this will be the last time you see us having breakfast in the MDR.
:snooty:
(I have no doubt, actually.)
::yes:: You saw the picture!
So... you're saying they really wanted you to wear your swimsuits.
Well at least the gals at the check-in desk
Okay, then... just... odd. :confused3
Well these gals were going to be massaging us naked, so what did they care?
:lmao:
"What's that weird thing in my hand?"
"I don't know, but I got one too!"
I know right! :lmao:
Clearly not. I like how they're soft shell too.
Also easier to not break the shells while making them.
What a lovely picture of you two. :goodvibes
Thanks! :goodvibes
Really! Interesting. I've never seen one outside of a ramekin. Huh!
I thought it was a great idea!
So... I had to google. I've always thought a Sauterne was a simple cooking wine. I was so wrong!
Oh, no! And they can be quite pricey! Especially when well aged.
Looks interesting, but, while I do like pistachios, I'm not usually a fan of them in things.
I don't like them so much on their own, but I've recently had some very delicious things made with pistachios.
Okay... I almost never can do wine pairings... but I sure could have on this one.
You definitely would have liked this one.
I may have to book a Disney cruise just for this.

But they only do this on the Dream and the Fantasy. Ships with a Remy restaurant.

The desserts look lovely! But I am not sure I would want to eat more than two at once. Even if they are only European sweet and not American sweet. The lemon thing is what makes me consider the whole experience…

They were definitely filling, and pretty much served as our main meal of the day. However the actual portions are still somewhat small, so it doesn't seem like too much food.

The story about the TV guy made me laugh! That could have been totally me! I always figure these people see the strangest things, so me fully covered is not in anyway strange if others walk around in swim suits.

I know! More of me was covered than half the people out on the pool deck!

Certainly not the best fruit plate ever (I'll make up for it in Hawaii!) but a light start to the day.
So are we buying the fruit and making our own fruit plates? I forgot if we planned for more than one breakfast out. :confused3
I can attest that Alison's french toast is MUCH better!
:goodvibes
The treatment was amazing and I love the whole spa suite experience.
Yes, but the only way you can do it on the Dream and Fantasy is as a couple. On the Wonder and Magic, they call it alone time. I'm sad to be skipping it on the next trip, but too short not to be able to spend the time with friends!
The holding of hands was weird but I didn't realize it was Alison's hand until we talked afterwards. 🤣
It was hysterical after the fact but I felt bad for the guy. He did get the TV fixed so we could know what time it was again!
I didn't even notice his discomfort. :lmao:
Best Remy experience this trip (foreshadowing!)
Dun. Dun. Dun........
This was delicious!
::yes::
I enjoyed this as well.
:thumbsup2
I forgot it was supposed to be a cabbage but it was delicious!
I was going to say this was my least favorite.....
I didn't love this for some reason...maybe I was just trying to save room for.......
Until they served us that one.
Not this although it was yummy. The candied hazelnuts were so good!
I really liked this!
.....this! The citron is a work of art and so delicious. I've seen how something like this is made and its so labor intensive! I believe the server said it took 2 days to make.
But yes! This is my favorite as well. Such skill to make it and so tasty!

I'm laughing so hard right now at your maintenance story. Similar things have happened with me and the room checks at WDW resorts where I'm napping after a shower and they come in.

Yeah, I don't think it's a big deal, but evidently some guys get freaked out because a woman could claim, who knows what?

Those desserts look so nice! That was sold out on my recent cruise so I didn't get to do it - guess that's an issue for next time.

I'm so happy to be Platinum and able to book earlier than lots, it's a "must" on the Dream class ships for me. Speaking of which, I completely missed your report on your Fantasy Cruise. I'll need to go back and read that!

I'm not huge into either of these, although they are for sure different than the usual cantaloupe and honeydew

You'll see what I like coming up, well you already did, on the days where I got snacks from the buffet before we went out on land.

This does not loop appearing at all

Which is why you won't see us having breakfast in the MDR any more on this trip.

Hehe I didn't notice it till your note

I didn't see it on my phone, it wasn't until I was looking from my computer and previewing the TR before posting it that I saw it!

So what was yours then?

If I remembered I would have told you!

Maybe he was new? I would have thought he'd be used to various scenarios

Or maybe he'd already had someone falsely charge him with something.....or heard horror stories?

Reasonable cost for the wines!

Honestly, I think the entire thing was pretty reasonable. Especially with what's to come. (foreshadowing :rotfl2:)

This is so cute!

They did a great job with the desserts!

This looks a bit overdone to me, assuming it didn't taste overdone?

That was a caramel sort of topping not overcooked.

I've seen pics of this before, what a beauty! I'm glad it was as good as it looked!

This was like the 4th time I've had this! It never gets old!

We had just finished the Remy desserts. Jill went back to the room, while I went down to the Atrium to take some pictures with backgrounds.

Because it was Formal Night and the Welcome Reception, they were giving out free drinks, and the place was packed. I felt seriously underdressed so I went back to the room and changed into my formal night dress. Then I went back down and got some more photos in my formal wear.

Jill met me at the staircase and we went down to dinner at Enchanted Garden. Neither of us were very hungry from the desserts, but we'd picked out our choices already.

We started with the Perogi. These were definitely good. And we ordered a bottle of the Kim Crawford Pinot Noir.

Jill ordered the Split Pea and Ham Soup, and just before she was about to take a bite, our server said, “It looks like baby food to me.” Which absolutely grossed Jill out. This woman is NOT going to get upgraded on her final tip. It flustered Jill so bad, she didn’t even take a picture of her soup.

She served me the Lobster Ravioli, which tasted so fishy I could not eat it.

Jill had ordered the Pork Tenderloin, she gave me a little piece and it was pretty tasty, but as I said, we weren't that hungry. I ate a bite or two.

We passed on dessert. And went back to the room. We drank about ¾ of the bottle of wine, so we decided to take it back to the room. Besides, we wouldn't be back in the MDR for the next two nights.

There are fruit stands on the side of the road...I'm planning on stopping and getting some cut up fruit to snack on. We need to finish planning!

They are pretty good...they remind me of the frozen ones.

OMG! This lady. She could have her mouth shut. There was no reason to make the comment and then its all I could think of when I ate my bite. The soup was ok...a little grainy....but I was so put off by the server that I didn't eat the rest.

It was good. Pork was tender and not dried out like it can be. The spaetzle was just ok...it needed more sauce.
