The Widow & the Spinster Take a Bougie WBTA Cruise That Didn't Suck! - Visiting Harry Potter World Parts 1 thru 3 - 11/18

So right across from Lupin and Mooney’s trunks was the Night Bus. I think this bus was used for the interior shots taken in the bus because it was equipped with beds and such.

The Weasley’s kitchen was a fun place even though it was only seen a couple times.

I loved this clock when all the kids made it home safely!

While we were in this part of the exhibit the Death Eaters came through again.

This is Tom Riddle’s Gravemarker? I think.

Then we ventured into the Forbidden Forest.

When you came out of the forest, you spilled into a “halfway through gift shop”. I suppose that was to get the people to spend their money who didn’t know that a full blown gift shop would be coming at the end.

The next room had the Hogwart’s Express Train at the station, and there were some fun photo ops.

We waited in line to go inside the train.

This was just a plain train car, but they had each subsequent coach decorated to correspond with what happened on the train in the movies. I took pictures, but I’m having a hard time remembering what the stuff laying on the seats is.

This recreation had to have been from one of the later movies because the costumes are larger, but it was supposed to represent one of the trips back to school.

This scene is definitely from one of the later movies because Ginny is all grown up.

At this point in the tour you come to a backlot cafe. Wendy and Alan said that we were only halfway through the tour, so it was definitely time for some food. I’m thinking it was nearly 2PM by this time. I forgot to take pics, but Jill and I each ordered the children’s hot dogs. They were easily full sized hot dogs. The people we saw who had ordered the adult’s hot dog, had giant sized franks, larger than the ones you get at Costco!

While we were lunching, I called Jim. It was around 6AM there and he promised that he would be awake. To make a long story short, when Fran passed, her phone got lost in the hospital, so I used insurance to get a new one. I never finished setting up the phone, so Jim was unable to get into the Google App Store to download the Venmo app. Evidently I had not activated making monetary charges on the phone, so the app store wouldn’t open. Setting that up wasn’t something I was going to be able to talk him through over the phone.

So I came up with a new plan. I had enough money in one of my savings accounts to transfer to my checking account, and made that as my backup plan. In fact I was able to initiate the transfer right there from my phone. Isn’t technology amazing?

After lunch we continued our tour. There was a courtyard outside with several interesting things to see. There was a line to get inside the house on Privet Drive. And right next to that queue was the model of the Weasley’s house.

Here we are waiting in line to see the Privet Drive house.

They also had the kitchen set up with food and dirty pans, but the pictures really weren’t worth showing. Here is Dobby pleading with Harry not to go back to Hogwarts when Harry finally has a bedroom of his own.

And that wraps up the tour of Privet Drive. There’s still loads more to come! I have only one more update on Harry Potter, but I may need to break it into several posts. We still are not even ¾ of the way there if you’re counting pictures.

Tell us how you really feel!
This is Tom Riddle’s Gravemarker? I think.
You are correct!

You can see the water bottle I purchased at the gift shop. It was only 1.5 pounds so not terrible and I was thirsty!
This scene is definitely from one of the later movies because Ginny is all grown up.

This is from the end scene of the last movie that you haven't watched yet. ;)

Just look how tiny Hermione’s dress is!

I really liked this dress on Emma, and wow SO tiny!
I loved how Ron was the one from the big family that always got the “hand-me-downs” and he wore this god awful robe.

That was a super funny part indeed!
The floating candles were actually candles suspended by wires in the initial scenes, but the candles burnt through the wires and fell on the tables.
Oh my! dangerous indeed!
There were lots of cool outfits, wigs. I’m sure you potter fans recognize them.
So so many characteristic wigs!
Costumes from the Terrific Trio (I just made that up).
