Wayne Osmond has become the first of The Osmonds to pass away.

He was 73.

They really had a "storybook" beginning-they were "discovered" singing impromptu with The Dapper Dans during a visit by the Disneyland entertainment director who hired them.

That eventually led to their association with Andy Williams, etc.

RIP Wayne Osmond.

Condolences to his family, friends and fans.
I remember seeing them sing a song about a bad apple in a barrel on a TV show once. Their dancing was memorable. Maybe it was the Andy Williams Show.

He was a very kind and dear man. So grateful to have met him a few times over the years. In 1995 he had surgery for a brain tumor. As a result of that tumor and surgery he lost all his hearing in later years. He will be very much missed.

Is the song called One Bad Apple Don't Spoil The Whole Barrel? I do remember that song because my mom had a cousin who had a crush on Donny Osmond and Michael Jackson and every time my mother would go to her cousin's house they would be in her cousin's room singing and dancing to Donny Osmond all the time. I never knew about Wayne Osmond because the only Osmond brother I knew about was Jimmy Osmond but not Wayne. Did Wayne ever get as popular as Jimmy Osmond in terms of teen idols? I do know that Donny Osmond was the singing voice of Li Shang in Mulan too

The song is just called "One Bad Apple" and it goes something like:

One Bad Apple Don't Spoil the Whole Bunch, Girl.
Give it One More Time Before You Give Up on Love

This strikes me as funny, because I would have never considered Jimmy to be popular. I forget how old I am! The Osmond Brothers caught on as a singing group in the early 70s and was composed of the 5 older brothers. Donny became the focus of the group (much like Michael became the focus of the Jackson 5). Marie joined the group rarely, launching her own career as a solo artist, and eventually did a lot of recording with Donny. In fact, they became so popular that they had their own TV variety show, "The Donny & Marie Show" for several years. I do believe that several of the brothers attempted solo or spin-off careers, mostly in the country music genre. I remember Jimmy, but always thought of him as an "add on" to the group; however, I think he was fairly popular in Japan and England. Just goes to show you how things change over short time periods, I guess.

Here's some interesting info on the The Osmonds: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Osmonds

I agree--don't think Jimmy ever got popular.
