*The Official VILLAS AT DISNEY'S GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT & SPA Owners & Lovers Group*

Following the pandemic there was a time when you could only borrow 50% of your next years points - that temporary restriction is no longer in place, it was enacted to help w/ the glut of extra points generated by folks having to cancel during the 2020 shut downs/travel restrictions.
About use years there are 8 - Feb., March, April, June, August, September, October, & December. Assuming you go w/ a June use year, you will immediately get 2024 points because June is still in its 2024 use year. Member services will make a 1 time exception for you & bank those points for you into your 2025 use year. Now you have double the points to use on any vacation that occurs between 6/1/25 to 5/31/26. You can also borrow 100% of your 2026 points to use for that 6/1/25 - 5/31/26 vacation, so if needed you can use 3x your annual allotment for one vacation.
My only caution w/ your planned vacation travels & a June use year is if you might ever want to take a vacation starting at the end of May & going into early June - booking across use years is a bit of a hassle but can be done.
I personally would absolutely not accept a Feb. use year right now because I’d want those 2024 points, it’s a nice cushion to start w/ all those extra points for longer vacations or bigger villas.
Thanks so much for all the information this is great. They approve the June UY and he's calling later tonight, excited and worried I won't understand everything...lol

I understand the May dates but my daughter is a teacher and I can't imagine our family trips will be while there is school with summer break around the corner.

I just wish it would go to 6/2026 so I could use the points for my birthday celebration (its a big one..lol)

Is there a specific date to borrow from the next year to book double points?
First, WELCOME HOME! Congratulations on becoming DVC.

As to if there is a specific date to borrow from the next use year, there is no specific date (unlike your banking window). Borrowing is all governed by when your trip is. However, you can only borrow from the next year’s use year. For example, you had a trip for May 1-5, 2025 of this year (which would still be in your June 2024 use year), you would only be able to borrow from your 2025 use year points. However, if you have a trip for June 2-5, 2025 you could borrow from your 2026 use year points as you are now in your 2025 use year as of June 1. What use year you can borrow from is based on when your trip is.

Just note that once you borrow from your next use year’s points, you cannot bank those points and they are effectively “stuck” into the use year you pulled them into.

I learned so much for these boards so wanted to pay it forward just a little bit.

I was fortunate enough to stay in a 2 bedroom preferred view villa in February 2025. It was room 1512, 5th floor. This was my first time at GF, but I’ve been to Disney yearly for the past 3 years. Lovely lake view, directly facing Poly and the overwater bungalows. Leaning slightly left on our balcony we had a view of Space Mountain and Tron.

The room, IMO, was beautiful, spotless and felt luxurious. I was in the 2nd bedroom, and had two bathroom spaces. One with a tub/shower and toilet, and the other space with sink and stand up shower. We had just four of us in the room but I can see this room accommodating a large group comfortably.

Upon arrival I called bell services and they brought over our grocery order and another item I purchased. It did take about an hour.

The walk over to Poly was very easy and convenient and we enjoyed dinner at Wailulu our first night.

Another night we got a mobile order from Gasparilla and it was very good.

We spent one evening in the Enchanted Rose and that was amazing. Excellent service, drinks, ambience.

The shops inside GF were beautiful and clean and peaceful. There were numerous staff available at all times, both in the villas and resort proper to help with anything you might need.

The absolute only hiccup I could possibly find – transportation!

I have previously stayed at Pop, All Stars, and Caribbean Beach (in a building immediately next to the skyliner).

For MK, any of the three MK resorts cannot be beat. Monorail, boat, walk – it was perfect.

For any other park – I’m sorry – I would stay at All Stars instead! The monorail to Epcot was painfully long. I think 45 minutes. I should have taken a Lyft. But, after paying VGF prices, it was hard to invest in any more transportation costs! We did Lyft to Hollywood because it was our first day and we wanted to get a jump on rope drop! So, my opinion only, getting to other parks from GF was just a bit of a struggle.

Does anyone know if I am going to receive any physical material from Disney? Silly question, do they send the slides for MBs?

My purchase was a few years ago, but I received a certificate, a cooling towel and really nice exclusive DVC water bottle. No Magic Band sliders, but you can ask at any DVC kiosk if they have them available (we've still not gotten any! They always were out when we traveled.) Also if you search "Grand Floridian" on DisneyStore, there are a few customized VGF items you can order - we have a t-shirt and a travel mug.

We usually walk over past Poly to the Transportation Center and take the EPCOT Monorail from there, it save a lot of time. But we like to walk so it might not be to some people's liking.

We sometimes do that and in the morning, since the opening of the new Poly tower, it's quite a pleasant walk.

I've timed taking the monorail from GF to Epcot a few times this January and it took us around 35 minutes including wait time for the monorail.

We did an add-on on in December and just got our second gift box. I haven’t opened it yet actually but I assume it’s the DVC water bottle, cooling towel, certificate etc, the previous poster mentioned that we got our first round. So you should definitely get that, as well:) I think a few have lovingly called it their $30K water bottle 😂
