The 999'th Haunt stole my bra Completed 7-20, Final thoughts added 8-20

I checked MDE and the wait at Jingle Cruise was now up to 60 minutes. Guess we’re not doing that tonight, big dissappointment. I believe it was at this point that we found out the party had sold out for tonight, which explained why it was so busy and long waits.
Oh, that's too bad! I hope you still had fun despite the crowds! I totally get having high expectations and then it not working out well (case in point - my MNSSHP)

We had tickets for the MVMCP.

Nice!

The cast members were waving us to go to the pass through behind Main st where they had several photo ops and we received our first cookie.

I don't like that. I kinda feel special that I get to go around where others can't, but.... I also want to see Main St. and the castle and...

we stumbled upon the Move it Shake it parade. I always love this bright upbeat parade.

For whatever reason, this one just doesn't do it for me.

got stuck here for a minute with this pretty view.

Not a bad spot to get stuck

After I enjoyed my alpine ride we attempted to get on Peter Pan but it was temporarily down, it ended up being down the entire night.

No! Well... that bites.

He's so excited about my choice of rides.

 So it seems!

We found it distracting when others left there necklaces on during dark rides but we turned ours off.

oops! Sorry... I think I did that. Didn't even think of it.

we jumped over to Tortuga Tavern for some snowman pretzels

How was that?

My log stopped and I got stuck under the water fall.

Ugh! And no sun to dry you up.

That's too bad. That was a priority for me.

I ended up getting a maple popcorn to snack on. @MeghanEmily has had me craving this since reading it in her TR.

Me too! Sorry yours tasted burned.

I loved these!

I believe it was at this point that we found out the party had sold out for tonight, which explained why it was so busy and long waits.

Ours was too! We noticed Main St was super crowded, but near the end of the night we were like the only people going on the rides so it felt like we had the park to ourselves.

Oh how fun! I can't wait to go to a MVCP!
I recommend going to just enjoy what you can, I was disappointed since I Planned to get more rides in then I was able to. If I go again it's going to be to just go in and enjoy where ever the moment takes us.

I don't like that. I kinda feel special that I get to go around where others can't, but.... I also want to see Main St. and the castle and...
exactly how I felt.

oops! Sorry... I think I did that. Didn't even think of it.
That's OK your forgiven

How was that?
Not bad really it was nice to have something savory, I almost went back in and got a second one.

Ours was too! We noticed Main St was super crowded, but near the end of the night we were like the only people going on the rides so it felt like we had the park to ourselves.
This was what I was hoping to do but Mark not caring much for rides wasn't going to enjoy himself.

After the parade was over we quickly hightailed it to HM to beat the crowds post parade. We dropped our hitchhiking ghost back off in his mansion and had no more strange experiences after. We also discovered that tonight all of the lights and features were working unlike yesterday afternoon. Yay so much more enjoyable when you can see. By the time we got off the ride and posed for several great PP the line to ride was outrageous.

Partying with Mickey

Next we hit up Pinocchio Village Hause for many cookies and the ¼ cup of warm not hot cocoa. We took our cookies and cocoa to the hub to find a great spot for Holiday wishes. I may or may not have eaten all of my cookies, but many of Marks too( guess I should have eaten some dinner). We enjoyed our time hanging around the hub, posing for PP and just taking it all in.

After the great magical night time spectacular we went to Space Mountain so that I could get another ride into outer space, this is my favorite Disney coaster. Mark watched the Christmas show while I was riding and when I came out we tried to find Club Tinsel, but Mark headed in the wrong direction. I really wanted to see some lil kids dancing with Goofy. To tell the truth I really wanted him as my dance partner. We found ourselves in the hub and we thought it would be a good time to hit the pass through to get the PP we skipped earlier. Oh Doh it was closed down. So instead I'll put in the few we got when we arrived but I forgot to put in that post.

Partying with Mickey

At this point I was feeling that all of my planning for the party was for not as we didn’t get to do much of what I planned. MArk was tired and ready to go so we decided to cut our losses at this point and get the heck out of dodge before the second parade started and we get caught in the crush of masses exiting the MK. Posed for some more PP in front of the MK and then had an uneventful Monorail back to the Grand.

This was an ideal time to get pictures of the Christmas tree and Gingerbread house w/o the daytime masses around it.

Mark went to the room to shower up and I went to Gaspy’s to bring us back some food. We had originally had ADR’s at Jungle Skipper Canteen, but they had changed the menu shortly upon our arrival and nothing on it sounded like anything we were interested in so I cancelled those ADR’s. By the time I made it to Gaspy’s the grill was closed and our choice was pizza (wasn’t making that same mistake 2 nt’s in a row) or a cold turkey sandwich, cold roast beef sandwich and a cheese plate. I also got 2 Heinekens which ended up being the only thing we consumed. The sandwiches were terrible as was the cheese plate. That was a waste of $41. A few more Mickey and friends cartoons and off to dream land we went.

Phew! Close call.

I was excited to see Clarabelle, she's so under appreciated.

I can appreciate that you'd feel that way.

I found it funny that Mark didn't even know her until he saw her in a cartoon a few nights earlier and I had to tell him.

I'm not surprised, really.

I loved these marching soldiers even if they were loud and annoyed Mark, humm maybe that's why I enjoyed them. :rolleyes1

They annoyed him? They're kinda the highlight. Why was he annoyed?

And here comes Santa Clause

Right down Santa Claus lane...

Yay so much more enjoyable when you can see.

Funny how that works!

Aww... cute shot.

We had originally had ADR’s at Jungle Skipper Canteen, but they had changed the menu shortly upon our arrival and nothing on it sounded like anything we were interested in

Oh really? I didn't know they'd changed. Huh.

The sandwiches were terrible as was the cheese plate.

Well, that sucks. :(

You all certainly got more accomplished at the party then we did. I'm still kicking myself for missing the parade and fireworks. And I had no idea they had so many cute photopass opportunities.

Cute pictures from the Christmas Party! Although I really liked the Halloween party better I liked the treats at MVMCP more. I don't eat that much candy or candy bars so all of it was wasted on me. I'd rather have hot chocolate and a pretzel!

We did the same thing too after the Halloween party! We ended up not eating dinner and were so hungry when we got back to GF. At Gaspy's the only thing they had was pizza. On a regular day this pizza would have been meh, but for hungry us it was pretty decent. I wish they had more late night offerings, especially on Party nights!

So sorry friends for the delay in this TR. I've been pretty busy with life and a lot of senior parent health issues, that nobody wants to hear about.

I've been wanting to get on here and post this for a bit now. Marks vintage MM hat (circa mid 70's) has been found in the deep recess of his grandmothers basement and found it's way back to Mark. Looks like it's seen a little wear but brings a smile to my face everytime I imagine on lil Marks head.

Well I've finally made it to our final day at the world.

Wednesday Dec 6’th The Grand Finale, AK and the most sought after FP

I woke up before Mark and went down for a quite rendezvous with my new morning lover Cappy (the Cappuccino machine). I enjoyed the lounges usual morning offerings plus fresh made Mickey waffles. I made a new friend when a gentleman sat with me since the lounge was full. We had a nice long discussion. He is a Florida resident and AP holder he and his wife stay on property about 5 times a year. I had to ask him his favorite resort. They love the Cl at YC, but the wife loves the Christmas feel at GF so that’s the reasoning for the GF stay. I thought it interesting that Daniel Baldwin is his brother in law (wife’s are sisters) and China Wilson from Wilson Philips is also an inlaw.

I got a second cappuccino and went back up to the room and put on my face paint while Mark went down to the Cl.

Took a few more pictures around the resort on our way to the bus stop.

We were at the bus stop about 10:40ish to get to AK. It took about 25 mins for the bus to come and we were on our way to AK. Once at AK I only had 5 min left of my FP window for EE and decided not to run there to make it. We slowly meandered back to Africa for our next FP time for the safari.

IMG_20171206_122411332_HDR - Copy.jpg
Our safari was pretty boring today with the exception of the male lion standing, but that didn’t last long before he laid down again. I tried to blow this up but just isn't working for me now.
IMG_20171206_123315052 - Copy.jpg

After our safari we grabbed a few Kingfisher beers at a beer cart and took the back path way by FOTLK to Pandora. This is a beautiful walk and if you’re not in a hurry to get anywhere I highly recommend checking it out.
IMG_20171206_130934164 - Copy.jpg

Soon it was time for my most highly anticipated FP of the trip FOP. Again, I was very fortunate that I got back to back rides using Marks FP. My opinion of the ride is it is great, but it is not worth the hours long wait many have when riding stand by. I will also tell you that the second ride was much more interactive. The scents were stronger and the mist was much heavier, it was awesome.

After FOP we debated between going to Nomads for some wine or going back to the GF. We opted to go back to the GF because we had some other ideas for drinking. I was hungry and grabbed another Kingfisher Beer and my 1 and only Mickey Bar of the trip, Ah lunch of champions.

So what were these plans for tonight stay tuned to find out.

Wednesday Dec 6’th The Grand Finale, you can Poly guess what's next

Once back at GF we stopped by the CL to get a couple of Octoberfest to take up to the room. This is where we had the rudest Cl staff encounter. We asked for a few beers and he told us that cocktail hour starts at 5pm, but I’ll go grab you one. At this point I spoke up and asked for 2 each so we wouldn’t have to make another trip down. I don’t remember his name, I think I did have it in the GF review I posted shortly after our return home. I do remember that he was from Monticello Illinois, not far from my home town. I already had a few sour thoughts on the Cl but this one solidified my believe.

We returned to our room enjoyed the beers and freshened up for our evening plans. Shortly we were walking down to the marina to a catch a boat to the Poly.

IMG_20171206_162302440_HDR - Copy.jpg IMG_20171206_162418997 - Copy.jpg IMG_20171206_162418997 - Copy.jpg

One we got off the boat we played around the dock and I made Mark pose for these pics. Now look closely to the top of that piling behind Marks Rt. shoulder. Uhh what is it ( I know hard to see in the pic)??? We joked around and #Donald dodo, #Poly pellets, #dockdo

Wednesday Dec 6’th The Grand Finale, you can Poly guess what's next.....Trader Sam's Shenanigans

We arrived at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto around 4:35pm and they were full. We put our name on the wait list and they gave us a pager saying it would be about a 1/2hr wait. We figured this would be a good time to hit up the gift shop and buy Mark a Tiki mug.

As soon as we got in the gift shop we saw that they had a lot of Tommy Bahama apparel and we found a sweatshirt in Marks size. Before he could even get in to a dressing room we were getting paged. I left Mark and went and checked into Trader Sam’s. Our seats were at the bar and the bartender was making fun of my for being by myself. I got to enjoy the lively antics in Trader Sams for about 10-15 minutes before Mark made it. When Mark arrived the bartender started making fun of him for leaving me alone. Mark ordered a Shrunken Zombie Head and I ordered the Krakatoa Punch.

When I ordered the Krakatoa Punch an interactive picture of a volcano on the wall started erupting.
IMG_20171206_170438821 - Copy.jpg
I’m not certain what was happening when Marks drink got ordered it was a on wall out of my view, all I know is it was followed by all the staff chanting something afterwards.

We ordered a couple of appy’s to split. Soon enough our Pan Fried Dumplings and Roasted Chicken Pork Pate Bnh Mi sliders arrived.
IMG_20171206_171339772 - Copy.jpg IMG_20171206_171346620 - Copy.jpg IMG_20171206_171443051 - Copy.jpg
We devoured them quickly, they were good enough but not as good as what was planned for dinner later. We each ordered a second drink and enjoyed the live action lounge for about another 45 mins. Mark decided he had to have the tiki mugs that the drinks came in and so he paid the extra $20ish for them. The best part of this was that they give you a clean fresh Tiki mug in it’s own box, so you’re not carrying around dirty sticky mugs. We had a ball at this lounge and will be back even if our choices were on the pricier side. Not all the drinks are expensive and come with an interactive experience. But that Krakatoa Punch was mighty tasty.

Wednesday Dec 6’th The Grand Finale, the final Grand Finale

We found our way up to Tambu lounge and grabbed a table in the back by the window. We ordered a couple of Lapu Lapu’s and the Hawaiian Pulled Pork Nacho’s.
IMG_20171206_175211921 - Copy.jpg IMG_20171206_175314645 - Copy.jpg IMG_20171206_180503955 - Copy.jpg
While waiting for our nacho’s we got to watch them lighting the tiki torches outside as the sun was setting. What a wonderful last sunset at the World. The nacho’s came and the plate was so big we almost couldn’t fit it all on the table. These nacho’s have been on my must try list for a while and all I can say is OMG I can’t believe it took this long to try them. They may have been one of the best things we ate the entire week we were here. We loved them so much we’ve attempted to recreate them in our kitchen right down to frying our own wonton chips. Of course, ours paled in comparison to the originals. Who can replicate that plastic cheese flavor....oh yum. This was a large serving and I don’t think that we were able to finish them. Note to self, skip appy’s at Trader Sam’s and just eat these nacho’s. The Lapu Lapu’s were good but not as good as my Krakatoa Punch of course I’m sure the quality of the alcohol has a lot to do with it. Also you can save $ by ordering the Lapu Lapu in a glass vs the pineapple. As we were finishing up and paying our bill we saw a couple standing nearby waiting for a table to open up. We asked them to have a seat at our extra chairs that we would be leaving shortly. We made small talk with them for a bit and discovered they were there only for the night before heading out on a Disney Cruise how fun. All too soon our evening at the Polly was coming to an end. We really had a great time.

Since we were near the monorail we decided to take it back to the GF. Holy Moly I can’t believe how long the line was. It was clear inside the Poly and half way to the entrance to Kona Café. This was the only time we had to have bags checked on the monorail line, and I could understand why the line was so long. It was S L O W. When we were standing in line inside I thought that maybe the Dine in the Sky group was also waiting across from us. Sure enough when our Monorail arrived everybody had to wait while they got to board their own private monorail car we had to wait. Once they were in their car then we were allowed on.

We made it back to the GF to grab our usual evening cocktails and head over to Gaspy’s to procure a table for viewing HEA. The tables were full, so I sat in a solo chair on the edge of the walk way and Mark went up to a table that had a few extra chairs to borrow one. Mark proceeded to carry on a conversation with this couple and soon it was time for the fireworks (they lived in IN. several yr’s prior). The other couple came and sat by us since the view was better. As the show started 2 guys came and stood in the middle of the walk way and obstructed our view. I went up and politely asked them to please scoot over 3 feet so that we could see. One of the guys just glared at me and stood there while the other silently just stepped to the side. Soon a third man came and joined the one standing in front of us. Soon the guy that sat next to us shouted MOVE very loudly. I was horrified. :o

Not only that but the guy that yelled it was in a power wheel chair. Not like he was going to get anywhere fast if he needed to retreat from a possible butt whooping. Of course, the one guy continued standing there while his smart friend stepped over next to the other guys who was nice enough to move. He kept turning around and glaring at us but did eventually move.

Soon the fireworks were over and we went to the cl and got a few beers or wine for the room. We sat on the balcony and put our Christmas light necklaces on the railing and enjoyed our last night at Disney.

The next morning I would pay off the MB charges with all of the gift cards we had and we would have a uneventful ride home. I’m so thankful that I spent 3 hr’s making notes of our trip on the ride home as I would not remember half of things that happened. Thanks for following along and putting up with my long delay between posts. Now I get to enjoy finishing reading all of your TR’s.

The jerks standing in the walkway aside looks like you all had the perfect last day and night. Especially love all the apps and drinks :-) Thanks for sharing your adventures and please, please, please try and keep your bra away from those pesky ghosts next time.
