Hearing stories of strollers being stolen inside the parks? Is this really a thing? We will be taking our first trip with our new granddaughter this year and will be using a stroller for the first time in many years. I understand it’s not wise to let anything of value unattended in a stroller but to completely steal the entire stroller? Come on man! We supposedly live in a society!

Ours was never stollen… this has been around for ever.. it was moved on many occasions. I would never say or doesn’t and has not happened but I will say this is not new…. And lastly it can be hard to find your stroller in a sea of 100 same color ones so also possible some one mistaking took yours as it may be the same. As above put some bright colored thing somewhere on it so you can identify it easily.

With all the cameras covering the parks it would take absolutely enormous chutzpah for someone who has paid the hefty cost of admission to risk criminal prosecution and a lifetime ban by stealing a stroller. And in our many years of stroller use it never happened to us. Just don't get over-confident from your Disney experience and start leaving your stroller unattended in sketchier parks; someone grabbed ours in Rye Playland (NY), took it to the ladies' room, rifled through it, and stole some of our daughter's clothes.

Many years ago right after Christmas we brought our new bob jogging stroller to the park with our 2 year old. We went on pirates and returned to our stroller missing. The CM who was shuffling strollers around could not locate it. The only thing on it was a diaper bag and some snacks. The only thing I did was lock the rear wheels together with a snowboard lock and zip tie a name tag to the handle. At the end of the night a CM called us and said they located our stroller at haunted mansion. Whoever stole at had to wheel it over there on the front wheels. Only thing missing was the food.

Word of advice is not to bring an expensive stroller into the park

I remember reading somewhere that one family would stain a diaper with tea and hang it from their stroller handle in a clear plastic bag to deter would-be stroller-nappers.
I’m gonna hang a biohazard bag from ours I think

This is nothing new...
Yes entire strollers are stolen.
Its not super common but does happen.
I'm willing to bet often times its just mistaken for theirs but sometimes it is intentional.
My recommendation is either don't take a mega expensive stroller and/or put some identifiers on it and take a pic so that if it does go missing its easier to find whether that's because a Cast Member needed to move it or someone indeed stole it.

I was at MK on Friday and overheard a family talking to a CM (looked to someone at a manager level based on their outfit) about how their stroller was stolen near Monsters Inc Laugh Floor so it's definitely possible. I don't think it happens as frequently as people claim though.

Two different things,
There are people looking for expensive strollers to steal. There are cameras EVERYWHERE in the park. If you realize its missing quickly, security can help.

You can't find your stroller.
ALL STROLLERS GET MOVED. Cast members HAVE to keep strollers 'tight' to have enough room for the next group of guest. Your stroller will rarely be where you left it.
Mark your stroller in some way and look around . Maybe even moved to across the street at next attraction.

I do remember a few cases actually happening but considering the average number of strollers on any given day it's extremely rare. We hid an airtag on ours. Helpful for if/when our stroller was moved. That said I would put some effort into making sure items in the stroller are somewhat attached. Someone shamelessly stole our small diaper bag last time.

I would hunt these vermin down like dogs …

The reason why strollers often get stolen at Disney Parks is they have always been magnets for thieves to steal mainly because something is hanging from the handle which is usually a diaper bag and when you get the general picture the only things found in a diaper bag is a baby bottle diapers the occasionally baby toys such as a rattle or the baby's favorite plushie and baby wipes "Which in my eyes is the most common thing stolen from a stroller with a diaper bag" What I think parents should do when they take infants to Disney Parks is when they take the baby's stroller is put your family's name on a tag and attach it to the stroller and if you have a diaper bag put your baby's name on the inside of the bag "much like parents do with children's backpacks when the children are going to school" and parents wouldn't have to deal with stolen strollers. It also helps if people ask this question before boarding a ride "Excuse Me would you please not move our baby stroller please" and that would help a lot because I think the cast members like moving strollers to make room for wheelchairs and other strollers of people who are also riding the rides

I'm sure there's a non-zero number of strollers stolen, but most of the reports I've read are the super high end ones...not your average graco. What's more likely is that CMs reshuffle the stroller parking and move strollers from places they're not supposed to be or occasionally a case of mistaken stroller identity. When there are a gazillion black city mini strollers, they all look the same.

Wow …What kind of society do we live in when the law abiding can’t have nice things because vermin can’t keep their hands to themselves … I refuse to live that way Now that I know it’s actually happening I will find ways to ensure the sticky fingered pay a price if they happen to choose my property to lay their felonious hands on

I read a story that years ago before air tags were a thing, there was a theft ring that would target high end strollers in the theme parks. They would enter the parks with an inexpensive umbrella stroller and swap it with a high end stroller then sell them on eBay or OfferUp/mercari. I think the group was eventually busted.

Uncivilized

Are you suggesting asking CMs not to move your stroller to make room for wheel chairs and other strollers?

Ask where you can put the stroller so it's out of the way and won't have to be moved. Assume items get rotated. Be prepared to walk

I don’t think strollers are a huge target, it’s the items leave on the strollers when they enter a ride. I have seen people leave camera bags, items purchased from stores, backpacks filled with who knows what. They take the stroller and bring it to a quiet place where they can go through the items.
