I am planning a restaurant visit at Space 220 with a friend who is a picky eater. He basically only eats chicken strips or plain hamburgers with fries. Are there any "secret menu items" to get this kind of food? Has anybody experience with "special orders" like this?
My friend is very eager to visit the restaurant and experience it for any at least an hour. However, I fear that we will have problems ordering any food.
Your recommendations are highly appreciated

The lounge offers wings and short rib sliders. That's probably your best bet.

If you select the restaurant you're limited to their prix-fixe menu. And while the children's menu has chicken fingers, given that this is a Patina-owned place, I don't know that they would be flexible to let an adult order the kids' menu even being charged an adult price.

They *might* be willing to be flexible in the lounge, but again, not being Disney-owned they may well restrict you to what is on the menu.

I consider myself a semi picky eater and I do not dine at Space 220 because the menu is a prix fixe. There is a burger on the lunch menu and a steak on the dinner menu that I could ask to have modified to my tastes, but nothing on the appetizer menu is remotely appealing to me. With lunch at $55 and dinner at $79, it’s just too expensive for me considering I would be getting the entree only.

The lounge might be a better option, although I would have your friend look at the menu first and see if any of the food items there could be modified to suit him.

If you are dining in the restaurant (not lounge), a lunch menu item is a burger. You can ask for it to be served plain. It is served with a side of fries. On the dinner menu, they do not offer the burger. You might ask if they could have it, even though it’s not listed. Or you could ask to have an adult portion of the children’s chicken tenders. I think any reasonable server wouldn’t mind helping.

All menus are listed online.

Consider booking the lounge and simply having an app and/or drink. While the restaurant is lovely, you will get the "experience" with a short visit. IMHO, no need to invest a lot of time and money in the experience especially if your friend won't enjoy the food.

This too is a great tip! The bar, lounge, and restaurant are all in one big spaceship room. So nothing missed by choosing this option.

Thanks a lot, that is actually quite helpful to consider.

I haven't heard of any secret menu items at Space 220, and honestly, their menu is pretty set. But, I've definitely seen restaurants make simple substitutions or modifications for picky eaters. Maybe call ahead and ask if they can do a plain burger or chicken strips?

Lots of suggestions to do the Lounge and I completely agree! But please know it's very hard to book the Lounge.

My picky eater had the plain burger at the restaurant and says it was the best he ever had lol.

I am not picky and do not like the choices at Space220. It was a once and done for us. Make sure you read over the menu allears.net. It is not an inexpensive ADR.

We really don't care for Space 220. I have a few picky eaters in my family and I wouldn't take them there. And keep in mind Space 220 is a 3rd party restaurant and not owned by Disney. I agree that if you're just really wanting the experience and you don't want to skip it altogether, go to the lounge.
