So has anyone purchased a magic band through Amazon or other non-Disney vendor?

I want to get a plain pink magic band. There are none available online in the disney store online. Out of curiosity I looked on amazon and found a bunch of third party sellers selling new-in-box link-it-later bands.

I have never purchased a magic band before (I only have the ones I've gotten with room reservations), so I don't know if pink bands are like a really hard thing to get, or if the standard colors regularly move out of and then back in stock at the online disney store. I therefore don't know if ordering the one from Amazon is necessary, or if I should just wait a bit for it to come back in stock online.

Are there any things to be worried about when purchasing a link it later band online? I appreciate any advice -- thank you!!!

I bought the one for my daughter on ebay last summer. I knew she would love the Toy Story one and at the time the only bands you could buy from Disney directly were the basic, solid colored ones. I just made sure, like you mentioned, that the description said new in box. It worked perfectly.

Buy from Disney and be sure.

Thank you! I certainly agree, and that is my preference. Do you by any random chance know if plain pink is something I can reliably count on coming back in stock in the online disney store?

Thank you! I appreciate you sharing your experience. Hopefully as long as the particular amazon seller I use is honest in their NiB description it should work.

I take it you're not staying onsite?

Because if you are, they have a plain pink band.

Thank you! We actually are staying onsite. But I happen to have pink bands on different MDE account from an unexpected trip I took not too long ago (I had made a new account for that trip because I had a package booked and was afraid of accidentally scanning the wrong park tickets). One member of my travel party did not go on that trip so I am one pink band short.

2 from amazon - one fulfilled from amazon, one from a 3rd party seller - neither would link for me last August, I ended up returning them both and ordering a pink minnie mouse one from Disney and had no issues. Both of the ones I bought were Olaf. However - I did buy a Sorcerer Mickey from Amazon and it linked without a bit of trouble. So I had success and failures :) :(

Thank you for this! One failure story is enough - I really don't *need* the band, I just *want* it. It's not worth the hassle of a bad experience though! I think I will wait until we get there - or until it comes back in stock online at disneystore!

Anyone have any insight as to the common-ness vs uncommon-ness of pink bands at disneystore online? it seems to me it should be common, but you never know!

The disneystore.com selection of parks merchandise (including Magic Bands) is completely separate from what the parks uses. So stuff will come and go from stock as it's not their primary market or goal. The parks will have racks of bands when you arrive, so you can get it purchased and linked within minutes so everyone matches.

I bought the Tigger Magic Band off of Amazon because that was the only place I could find it and I HAD TO HAVE IT lol. It was new in box and linked up with zero problems. I would have rather bought it from Disney, but unfortunately that was no longer an option since the Tigger MBs were removed from their site so quickly.

You can always paint a MB any color you wish, including pink.

I'm sitting here, right now, looking at a pink MagicBand (priced at $12.99) on my Disney "Shop Parks" iPhone app.

Robo, you are my hero. I did not know that app existed! Five minutes ago I read your post. Now I type this reply, having in that brief time downloaded the app, found the band and ordered it. Thank you so much!
