What am I missing? Anyone used the premier tour for Shanghai? It's 1600 to 1800 RMB (approx $275) per 6 hours and includes:

Benefits include:

  • Hassle-Free Planning – Dream the most magical day ever in the park. “Let your concierge be your guide” – designing a customized day based on the specific needs of your family and friends.
  • Complimentary Parking – Reserve exclusive parking lot at VIP area, just steps away from the park entrance.
  • Quick Admission – Start a magical journey through quick park entrance.
  • Exclusive Attraction Access – Enjoy expedited access to Shanghai Disneyland attractions and shows.
  • Reserved Entertainment Viewing – Enjoy the best seats in the house, with designated viewing areas for the Disney daytime and nighttime spectaculars.
  • Merchandise Discount – Shop with your tour guide and enjoy discount on selected merchandise at Shanghai Disney Resort!
  • Concierge Service – Explore the magic and get to know interesting stories with your tour guide throughout the day.
The premier access pass (paid fastpass) that allows one fastpass per attraction is 500 to 600 RMB (approx $90) per day.

It almost seems like the premier tour might be worth it since it seems like most reports indicate that a hassle free touring plan in Shanghai need the premier access, especially around busy times.

For that extra $150 per person you get easy admission (also reported to be a hassle), show seating and concierge escort. I am thinking that the splurge might be worth it.

Thoughts?

I haven't done it. My only word of caution would be that the language may be ... over-selling the experience. I've only been to Shanghai Disneyland once, but their customer service / cast members weren't at the same standard as the US parks (and definitely nowhere near the superb cast members in Tokyo).

"Extras" like easy admission would presumably depend upon being able to find the right location to enter, which could be challenging as the entrance can be a little chaotic and they don't seem to have any cast members outside the gate. Even if you found someone, their English may not be sufficient. Similarly the "concierge escort" may not be the experience that you're hoping for. Again, in my limited experience at the Tarzan show, I vaguely recall a cast member who MAY have been a concierge escort, basically yelling at anyone who sat in the "reserved seating" area (even though there weren't actually any VIP guests and there was no signage to indicate that the area was reserved).

I don't mean to be a gloomy Eeyore, but I think it would be best if you kept your expectations to a reasonable level. Good luck if you do get the premier tour!

I’m curious where you found that pricing? Here is the page on the Shanghai Disney Resort website: https://www.shanghaidisneyresort.com/en/tours/vip-tour-services/

The three hour tour does not include park admission and costs 2700 RMB per Guest. The six hour tour doesn’t specify if it includes admission or whether it is a per person charge, but it is 18000 RMB (peak)/16000 RMB regular.

As an aside, I recently read an article where the Chinese guests have been extremely outraged by these VIP tours such that the CMs leading the tours have had to basically tell the tour guests to keep a low profile, more or less.

Now, what’s somewhat ironic about the “line-cutting” privilege outrage is that apparently many of the Chinese don’t honor lines in the first place! :confused3

The thing you are missing is a 0 at the end of those numbers ;)

The 6 hour tour shows 16000 - 18000 for a party of up to 6.

Gotcha. I think what I was looking at was a mix of the 3 hour and 6 hour. That’s a bigger difference but for 6 people might be ok if you we’re going with a group.
