So we finally scored a reservation for this weekend there for 4 of us. Couple of questions

-Are you guaranteed to have your own car or are you seated with others?
-do they sing happy birthday there (my sons birthday)

I'll be watching this thread, I've also got reservations for the first time next week. Not sure what to expect.

Congrats. SCI-FI is a must do for all of our visits. We have never had to share a car. There are a few tables as well, but never had one. I can't answer to the birthday.

If my memory serves, there are cars with two rows and some with three. If you're a party of four, it seems possible you'll get a car with two rows and not have to share, but I assume it's also possible they put you in a three row car if that's all that's there.
I know at Sci-fi you can do the Birthday Cake add on option (order in the app a few days ahead of time), but I'm not sure if they'll sing or not.

Seats are 2 people to a row, one row behind the other, like a car would be. Most cars have three rows, so as pp says you might have “hitchhikers” in the third row. But because of the arrangement of seats, the hitchhikers won’t be interacting with your party, so it’s different from sharing a regular table.

For what it’s worth, we were there the night of Moonlight Magic and our party of four was sat in a three row car behind another couple. If you have kids in your party, who want to watch the movie it may be worth requesting/waiting for a row 1/2. I go there for the onion rings (and to get off my feet) and not the movie and I didn’t want to throw off our schedule, we sat in rows two and three and were fine— but if this is a special one time thing or a special occasion, I would mention it when you get to the restaurant and politely request to be in a car in the front of the car.

Thanks everyone. Was just chatting with a CM and they informed me I can come by earlier in the day before the reservation time and request a 2 row car. What is the go-to meal there?

I agree, we go for the ambiance and the burgers. We were kids in the 50s, so lots of memories for us, not to mention taking our kids there in the mid-90s. We still have one of the glow in the dark Frisbees their meal came on!

I will second the burgers/rings/fries/shakes. Great burgers and it just goes with the overall vibe. Enjoy!

1. Depends on where you are sat.
For a group of 4 I'd expect you to be in a car that has a front and back seat.
However their are cars that have more rows so if you are put in one of those you'd likely have someone else in the car with you.

2. Generally they ask if you're celebrating something and its likely that if you order dessert they will sing or you may be pixie dusted with a dessert and sing.

Sci-fi isn't for everyone but my family has always loved it.

Dine there frequently… never heard CM’s singing Happy Birthday and I doubt they would do it… distracting for people watching the film.

For food, I suggest you don’t get too creative… I think burgers and shakes they do best. Highly recommend the Oreo shake… adult version LOL

We are a party of three and plan to go to Sci-Fi. Does that mean one member of our party will need to sit alone in a row or are there also car configurations that are suitable for three adults?

I second this!! The Oreo shake (adult version) is SO good!
