SAS and their tactics

I don’t get it. Scandinavian Airlines? What tactics are you referring to? Need more context.
SAS is the British version of the USA's Seal Team 6 and the British went to war with Argentina in the 1980's over the Falkland Islands (which the USA didn't support).

Not exactly. SAS is the Special Air Service, which is part of the British Army.

The British equivalent of the US Navy's SEALs is the Special Boat Service unit of the Royal Navy. I don't believe they have a specific equivalent of DEVGRU (Seal Team Six).

So then SAS is equal to Delta Force?

More or less. I've heard the SAS and SBS aren't like the US military with lots of special warfare units where Delta and DEVGRU are considered elite divisions. There may not be an equivalent. No doubt they're very good at what they do.

In the most recent James Bond reboot, Bond was formerly regular duty SBS, while the original character by Ian Fleming was written as a former Royal Navy Reserves intelligence officer.

Thanks. I just find military history very interesting since I have relatives that have served in the US Navy and Army. It's cool to know our allies have just as good units as we do.

You mean military personnel? The kind whose service most of us respect? OK...:rolleyes1
If you can't have a good laugh at yourselves, or anyone else as it matters, you're just not being human. For what it's worth, this cartoon was pulled from Private Eye, a satirical publication that praises the efforts of the army forces.

It wasn’t so much the cartoon, as it was your description, that struck me as derogatory.

Are you sure? Ross Kemp would disagree :)

I get the joke, but what I was getting at is that they don't have several levels of 1st tier special forces like the US does. Not sure they have an equivalent of the 75th Rangers, and from I hear they don't have any division that's the equivalent of DEVGRU or Delta. If they need people for that mission, it will just be SBS or SAS expected to do that.
