I purchased that deal on Living Social the other day for a Sam's Club membership. My MIL wants to split the cost for a year's membership. Will we both be able to get a card even though we don't share the same last name or address?
I am a little confused. Did you buy it in just your name or is her name on the membership too? If it is just in your name, I doubt it. Sorry. Unless she is willing to go with you every time you go. The cards do have a photo on them of the person who's name the membership is in. They do check at the door and at check out to make sure you are the same person. You could pull it off if the two of you always went to the store together but that is kind of a pain. I bet Living social will give you a paper membership voucher that you are going to have to redeem at Sam's club where they will take your photo and give you the actual card. Good luck
We haven't redeemed the voucher for a membership yet. In the past, my husband and I usually each get a card so I was wondering if I could get one and my MIL could get one.. even if we say we both live in the same household.. kwim?
My mom and I live in different states and split both a Costco and sams club membership. Its supposed to be 2 cards per household but no one has ever verified and we've been doing it for years.
They don't care about surnames, but you need to list the same address for both cards. The only downside is that one of you won't get the fliers in the mail.
My dd has a Sam's membership thru her employer. The three Sam's close to us just barely glance at the card upon entering the store & the cashiers have never said anything to me when I have taken the card by myself & also my other dd has borrowed the card several times too with no problems. It is now time to renew & dd's employer has put me and the other dd on the 'buddy' list so we will split the fee for the card & each will get our own.
My Sam's membership was a gift last year... used my school id to get the student discount and my friend paid for it, we both have cards with our own address attached. As a matter of fact our year just ended and she just renewed them, not a problem.

A friend and I have split a Sam membership for probably 10-15 years. We each have our own card. At the time we lived in the same city and since then we've lived in different cities. She pays the membership fee one year and I the next. We've never had a problem with Sams when using our memberships.
