Apologies if this has already been reported. Just returned from visit 9/30 - 10/6. Great trip all around, except for the 10/5 Enchantment Fireworks Dessert Party (Pre Party Plaza Garden View), which was a complete mess. Check in was supposed to be at 6:30, Enchantment showing at 8PM prior to Boo Bash. I've been to several MK dessert parties, and have never seen anything like this. I knew I was in trouble when I approached the check-in at Tomorrowland Terrace at 6:30 and saw a long line of people stretching back almost to the Plaza patio tables, and about 3 leaders out front. By 7:00, we had not even reached the ramp to Tomorrowland Terrace. By 7:15, we were finally at the check-in booth at the top of the ramp. There were no tables to be had. The party was obviously completely overbooked. At 7:20 we were told that we'd been upgraded to Treats & Seats (the seated view). I personally prefer the Plaza Garden View, but oh well, at that point, I was just totally amazed at the hideousness of the situation, and felt terrible for the CM's. Our CM seater took us over to the Treats & Seats section where she was met with incredulous looks from those CM's. It was obvious that there were no tables at Treats & Seats, either. Our CM seater left us kind of standing in no-man's land, and went to consult with her Leader. At 7:30 (30 min before Enchantment showtime), I went to the Leader, and (nicely) asked if I could just be refunded, because I needed to go try to find a spot for Enchantment. The Leader promptly took my info for a refund, apologized profusely, and offered to let us go stand in the Plaza Garden viewing area, which we did. I've never seen such mass confusion, and I wondered why the leaders weren't walking the wait line apologizing for the overbooking and offering refunds.

Yikes. Sorry you had that experience. Absolutely no reason for the confusion considering this party existed pre-Covid. I sure hope they work out the issues soon.

I'm sure they will work them out. This was the first week of the return of the Dessert Party, and I'm sure there was some kind of IT glitch that caused the overbooking. I was very chill throughout. No sense getting totally riled up over it. I am glad to report that I did not see even one guest acting ill-mannered. Everyone was taking it in stride and being nice to the CM's. That made me happy (my daughter is a CM, and ill-mannered guests drive me nuts).

Thank you for your review. I'm glad that you were at least given the opportunity to view the show from the Plaza Garden. I hope your refund comes thru promptly.

Reading this makes me glad that I took a hard pass on booking a dessert party for our trip. The price alone was jaw-dropping but there's no way that I would want to deal with what you went thru. Kudos to you for remaining patient with the CMs who got stuck trying to handle the mess created by overbooking.
