I have what is probably a dumb question, but since we've never been there, we don't know the seating arrangements. Is it individual tables or is it big picnic type tables like Biergarten in Germany?:confused3

You get your own table. We were a party of 7 and we had a big round table near the buffet. We really enjoyed Akershus--have fun!
:goodvibes

Just realized you're from Carol Stream, we're from Wheaton!

Thanks. Not that we would have minded either way, I was just curious. We have heard great things about this place and that is why we are trying it (although my husband shocked me when he said he wanted to go there with all the Princesses!).

Oh my goodness, the food is fantastic. I grew up around Swedish food though, so I really love it. We took our DD for her 3rd birthday last September and it was really fun. We're going again in 2 weeks!!!!

Hope you guys were OK with the storm, we just got our power on about 5 hours ago!!!

I'm going to Akershus as a single on my first day at WDW. I was led to understand that it was family style dining at big tables but whichever way is OK with me.

I come with a Scandanavian heritage (Swedish) and love the food. I guess seeing the princesses would be OK too.:cool1:

I think there is a lot of confusion about this meal. Each dining party is seated at their own table. At breakfast there's a cold buffet with fruits and pastries, then each table is given a family style platter of hot breakfast foods - eggs, bacon, potatoes, etc. At lunch and dinner, you choose your entree from a menu. Visit the cold buffet for your "appetizer" which includes a selection of salads, cold cuts, cheeses, etc. Then you are served your lunch/dinner entree. The princesses circulate the room during your meal. After your party is finished with the meal, you are served dessert- family style. 3 selections are served on one large plate intended for sharing.

thanks for the clarification - I'll also be dining here solo the day before my 50th bday in Nov. Do you think I can get that dessert plate to go?

I don't see why you couldn't ask them to box it up if they won't just give it to you to go.
