Wondering what the best strategy is for getting reservations for Oga's? We will be in DL in 2 weeks and would really like to have a fun drink at Oga's. I've been checking for reservations, but of course have not come across any yet. I will be watching closely the days before we get there. How easy is it to get on the walk up wait list? What are the chances with that for a party of 4?

I'd set an alert on a dining site and keep checking every day until your trip. People seem to be having pretty good luck getting on the walk up list. Just check for it early in the day.

If you never get a reservation and still want to go I would be there shortly before opening to check on getting on the wait list. We have had good luck in the past, but there are just two of us.

Is this just a bar mainly? Can you walk through and look without a reservation?

Yes it is a bar and I do think you need a reservation to enter (unless you are on some fancy VIP tour I'm guessing).

When we were there in April we got on the list late morning (11:00 ish I think?) for 3 people. It was about a 35-minute wait, so we just stayed in the area. We got to stand at the bar and have a drink and we were happy with that as we've been there before with a reservation. If you can't get a reservation try early in the day for the waitlist.

You definitely can't just walk through. I've seen people leave, immediately realize they left something at their table/bar, and instead of letting them come in to get it, the CMs will go retrieve it and bring it outside for them.

So in my experience they are fairly strict about that. You have to have a reservation or be on the walk-up list to get in. (I'm guessing that if they just let people come in to look around, some of those people would try to sneak in and belly up to the bar, taking space away from the people who waited or got reservations. So that's why they don't.)

But, getting in on the walk-up list is usually not a problem. At least it hasn't been for me. If I don't have a reservation, I usually get added to the list, and depending on the wait, go ride MFSR or browse the shops, etc. and by the time I'm done, it's time to show up.

Hmm. We may skip it then. I don't want to use up precious ride time waiting for a table. I just figured the Star Wars fan in my family (my husband) would want to take a peek at this place.

If you time it right, you're really not wasting ride time though. I've always been able to time it so that I can do other stuff in Galaxy's Edge (like riding Millennium Falcon), and it usually times out perfectly. It's not like you have to stay in line once your name gets on the list.

If it were me, I'd just play it by ear when you're there and see what the wait looks like. If your husband is a Star Wars fan, he will DEFINITELY want to experience it, IMO.

How long have you typically waited for walk up? We could try this in the evening one night. Our afternoons are tied to lunch reservations, etc.

I've never waited more than 30 minutes for a walk-up. I once got quoted 40, but it still alerted me at 30 to head on over. It's really easy to kill 30 minutes in Galaxy's Edge. At least for me it is!
