Questions about points and booking 2 reservations

I have some questions and hopefully someone will understand.

Do I need to call MS to use points that were transferred to me? While I don't see the points on my dashboard, I do see the resort that the transferred points are from (not one of my home resorts).

I also need to purchase MMB and OTU points.

I want to book 2 villas for the same time period. Will I need to call MS to book the 2nd one? I think I usually do - have not tried to book the second one myself online when they are for the same dates.

Should I purchase MMB and the OTU points now and book a reservation (one villa) using the transferred/OTU points that I can modify once my 7-month window opens? And then call to book the second villa (unless I can do that online) using the rest of my current points and borrow some.

Or, just wait until the 7 month and call MS to buy MMB/OTU points and book the reservations?

In other words, is there any way/any point to saving time prior to the 7 month window for 2 reservations?

One more thing I just thought of - The plan is to book for 2025 and I think it will not be a problem but, if it isn't available, I will try for January 2026 - are the MMB OTU points still an option for a trip in 2026 if I buy them in 2025?

I can't help with transferred points, but I know that it is possible to book 2 reservations for the same date online with "regular" points. I did that last month when I booked a room for my son and his girlfriend at the same time as a room for my husband and me.

One-Time Use points cannot be used until the 7 month window opens. So, you could book with existing points and then transfer that reservation at 7 months, but you would need to call at 7 months to purchase the OTU points.

If you can see the transferred points when you go to book a reservation, then you can pull the trigger and book w/o calling MS. I have done this.

FYI: If you were for some reason to bank the transferred points, you will not be able to see them anymore and will need to call MS to book.
