Question about the Wheat Buns and Options

From what I understand all the buns (hotdog and hamburger) at Disney World have been switched to wheat. My mom cannot eat whole wheat. So are there any other options? I know we are both worried about this.

No other option. The buns are exactly whole wheat. It's some sort of mixture. I did ask if they had any other bun besides the wheat one and was told no.

I do not like the new bun so my snack of a Disney World hot dog is boycotted until they give us a chance to make a choice.

The buns are not whole wheat, and there are no other options.

I haven't yet tried the CS pizzas but I understand the crusts are now multigrain, if your mother has problems with that.

The buns aren't whole wheat, they have a wheat flour additive to them. It's really more of a cosmetic change - they are a tiny bit more tan. (Whole wheat that you get from the store has a LOT more wheat in it and is much darker than these buns).

So long as your mom can have flour she should be OK with the buns. I say this even considering those that have to have low fiber diets due to kidney problems, etc. I would guess, while I am not a Dr, that she'd be fine with the buns at Disney.

The buns have a multigrain (whole wheat, corn, soy, millet, name your grain, it's in there) "bread base" in addition to the regular white flour. I was sent the ingredients list by special diets (one of our girls has food allergies).

All Disney-owned quick service locations now carry these buns.

op, if your mother can't have wheat PERIOD, several locations carry the EnerG brand gluten-free buns. For more information, there's a sticky on the DISabilities board with contact information for special diets in the parks.
