Question about floral planning checklist

My planning session is next week and I have to send back my floral checklist. It asks me if I want a "signature flower throughout the entire event". Can someone please tell me what that is? It also says "inspired by a different color", what does that mean? It already asks me what our colors are, so what other color are they referring to? Help!

some people may have a flower theme, or it might be their signature flower, favorite flower or maybe they just want a certain type of flower to dominant over all others so you would note that. That's what what i understood when i filled out my paperwork. Or, maybe you have a color theme and you want flowers to represent that color and hues in it's family and not necessarily worry to much about what type of flower. Me for example, i have both... I'd like Orchids to be dominant and my wedding color is purple so I requested purple Vanda Orchids and a mixture of in-season purple/white flowers.... hope this gives you a good idea of what your options are.
