question about dueling dragons

My son would really dig the queue for dueling dragons but i am not sure about the upside part Is there a way he can see the stuff without riding the ride? Also since we will have FOTL access, will we miss a lot of the queues, should we wait in line to get the full effect(we are leaving in less than 15 days, will the crowds be that heavy at this time?) Thanks in advance for your wisdom- kim

Yes, he can exit the ride at the end of the queue. Just watch for the exit doors near the baby swap.
