Gray and cloudy, high temp will be 41, but high wind warnings.
Summer and Lily both called me at midnight to wish me Happy New Year. Summer has to take her husband back to work pick up spot for tomorrow morning, but there's a snow storm where she's heading to, so they may go up today and stay in a hotel tonight.

Watched Wicked twice yesterday, and will probably watch it today.

Was on the phone with my friend in CO until after 2 my time, we were both having a hard night, but we got each other through it. That's what good friends are for.

It was almost 4 when I fell asleep, woke at 7:10 and couldn't fall back asleep. I got up and fed the cats, and took all the lights, garland, wreath, and decorations off the front porch. I usually take the tree down today, but I'm going to break with tradition and take it down tomorrow. I'll undecorate the rest of the house instead. Put pork and sauerkraut in the crock pot for dinner tonight.

Have a wonderful first day of the new year. May you all have good health, good luck, peace, and love

Happy New Year to all! I hope 2025 is good to everyone.

Good morning. It is a rainy morning with temps in the 40s. I am heading to Jeff's in a bit for breakfast. He is making liege waffles. I looked them up and they are thicker sweeter waffles that don't need syrup and can be eaten with a knife and fork or with your hands. Last night I had dinner with Kenny and family. We had Chinese food. We had a birthday cake for Ethan and he opened his gifts. His kid party is this weekend. I am glad to have a day off from work and I am challenging myself to not even log in to work today. It is a holiday. I think some salaried people were asked to work today which I think is not really a good thing but they do it because it is expected. Being hourly there are more restrictions on what they can ask for. My kids (and Chris did) tell me that when I work on the weekends I am donating to the company. Yes I know but it lessens my anxiety for the week ahead. It's cheaper than therapy. LOL! But today I will do self care.

Have a great day.
I love liege waffles! We have a storefront in Laurel, Md that sells them as well as other pastries and breakfast items and I usually pick up a few while in the area. It's in an industrial type area so you order online or at the window and pick up at the window. They also run a food truck that does them.

Good evening friends,

Prayers today was time of new joy for each of you. I got a nice text from our neighbor and a Happy New Year greeting from an elderly church friend. I still have old PM's and emails to answer. Please forgive me if I need to reply to you. The last several days have been hard. I haven't been online as much. I haven't used the laptop at all.

Vivian did come yesterday. She liked her airplane ornament. She also enjoyed hearing that there was a Vivian character in the Hallmark movie The Christmas Note. This is a sort of but not really sequel to The Christmas Secret. I think both movies were on today. I liked Secret more but would reccomend both for brief two same characters in Betty from the Bakery and Jason who is married (first movie) to Betty's granddaughter Christine. Jason himself is briefly in the second movie also.

Vivian of course felt badly I am hurting. She was glad the CVS cream helps some. After seeing how I get up and use the walker, she assured me that is the culprit in her opinion. Instead of getting up like I used to on a smooth forward movement, hands on the walker, (I was even able to briefly stand without hands at one time) I have instead been putting tremendous strain on my arms and rib cage, by pushing down on the recliner chair to stand enough to grab the walker. I need to walk much more fluidly on the walker and taller.

Getting up as I have been=very sore lower legs especially on right. Dad and Vivian also reminded me that since I first wore that awful heavy velcro boot and for much longer than I needed to, my balance/stride has been off. I need to find that especially thank God now that I am long healed from my toes.

Vivian showed me how to properly use the walker and how to safely practice from my chair the leaning forward motion to propel myself up to stand as I should. Getting up from the toilet is the same issue but harder because it's so low. This recliner chair raises. It's a matter of as Vivian said faith, belief that I will get back to where I was and better, along with putting in the effort to get there.

Today overall I am walking better than yesterday which is a blessing. Bathroom trips especially coming back aren't easy but grace of God I do them. Literally step by step. Please dear friends, enjoy the grace of any movement and take care of yourselves.

Another positive is overall I am getting more sleep even some over night. That for mecis a huge blessing. I still mostly sleep in the day but remember my sleep cycle is only just starting to slowly get back so that takes time, too. It is headed in right direction. Extra hope :)

Sweet Dreams to all.

Flyingdumbo127 Glad Vivian was able to help you use the walker correctly. That will help you move forward in the right direction.

Good morning. It is 31 here but the wind is howling and the real feel temp is 15. I am going to go to the gym to walk on the treadmill today instead of going to the lake. Jeff made the liege waffles yesterday and they were delicious. Of course there were 2 sticks of butter in the recipe as well as sugar pearls. I had a nice breakfast with Jeff, Aimee, and the grandkids. They were still celebrating New Year's with hats and blowers. We played some games and I also got some time to talk with Jeff and Aimee while the kids played together. Kenny's kids stayed up to 10 and 11 on New Year's Eve. Jeff's kids were in bed before midnight too with Ellie being the latest up at 11:30. I talked with my NH friend as usual on Wed afternoon. I told her I want to pick her brain about retirement. This is my year of big decisions. I want to make informed ones.

Off to work and it is our busiest time of the year. Not looking forward to it but it must be done!

Have a good day.

Happy Thursday!

Getting cold again. Expecting some bad snow Sunday night into Monday. Maybe it will pass us over.

Didn't really do anything yesterday. I did take the ornaments off the tree yesterday and put my kitchen Xmas decorations away. For the first time, I dropped an ornament and broke it. I couldn't believe I did that. Of course it was an ornament that Mitchell made in school. I think I could remake it and he'd never know. Then I'm wondering if he would even notice it was gone. All it was, was a clear globe with glitter inside.

I also did 5 loads of laundry yesterday. I think it was about 10 days in between laundry days so it was piling up. I like to wash the Xmas kitchen and bath towels and the Xmas rug from the bathroom before I pack it away. That really added to the towel load.

I really, really, really need to get back to cooking dinner. I have pork chops thawing out so I'll make them for tonight and tomorrow night.

I worked from home on Tuesday and watched Mia. Her babysitter takes the 2 weeks off of Xmas & New Years. She played with her new kitchen set and her grocery cart all day. We also watched Mickey's Clubhouse. I didn't have 1 thing for work that came through.

I started watching Gilmore Girls a few weeks ago. Picked it back up over Xmas but I just can't get into that show. I know a lot of people of just loved it when it was on and it seems to have a huge following but I didn't even get out of Season 1. I think it was all the 1 liners and smartass comebacks that the main character always had, it started to get on my nerves.

Have a great day!

Good morning. The cold weather is back, but the horrible winds from yesterday have subsided. They were scary bad. It's going to be 35 today. All of next week we aren't going to get out of the 20's.
I undecorated inside yesterday and ended up taking the tree down too. I had already made so many trips up and down the stairs with all the other totes, I just wanted to get it all done. The house looks boring again, lol. I had recorded the Rose Parade to watch, but for some reason NBC here had issues and it never recorded.
Walmart just delivered the order of new totes, so I'm going to spend some time in the cellar, going through boxes, getting all my Hallmark ornaments into clear totes so I can see what's in them. Then I'll make labels for the outsides for what's in there. All of my old Xmas totes are dark colored ones you can't see through, but I'll leave the stuff like regular ornaments, garland, and other decorations in those for now. I have ones for every room in the house, lol.

Off to get going. Then I'm going to sit and watch Wicked again.

Have a good day.

This is how I felt yesterday when I was done undecorating, lol.

Happy New Years to each of you! Hope 2025 brings you happiness!

I had recorded the Rose Parade to watch, but for some reason NBC here had issues and it never recorded.

Our local NBC news carried the Nat'l Team with coverage of the terrorist attack all morning, so I think that may have preempted the parade coverage.

Some important meetings at work got postponed until later in the month, so we changed our flights from Wed. AM to Tuesday afternoon/evening. Couldn't get another night added at the Yacht Club so we are going to stay at the Hyatt at MCO again. We get in at 9ish, so that will be perfect. And easy! We've stayed there before and it's always been fine. Also added another day to our park tickets so we will get up & get moving Wed. morning a lot earlier than originally planned. Weather will be cool, in the mid-50's but sunny. That's okay with us.

Our NYE & NY's Day was quiet and uneventful, just like we like it. No special meals, although we did do fondue since we had it from Christmas Eve but never made it.

It's been cold & blustery here, too. The wind has been ripping. Looks like a bit of snow, they are only calling for 1-3" I think, its coming to our area on Monday. I guess folks will freak out over that...figures I have to go to the grocery store to stock up for my niece who comes and pup sits for us on Saturday or Sunday.

I got down all the holiday decor, just have not yet put it all back in the totes. I will do that tomorrow evening or Saturday. I've been lazy in dealing with it for sure. I came home on Tuesday from running around to find my husband had completely dismantled the tree and put it away already so the big chore got done thankfully!

Maybe they'll show a taped version one of these days

I spent 3 hours in the basement sorting, throwing, and cleaning Xmas stuff. 2 bags of trash, 4 big cardboard boxes emptied, and 6 new clear totes filled and labeled. I have a whole box of Charlie Brown and Peanuts stuff for Summer to take. Trash men just came this morning and I already have a pile for next week, lol. It looks so much better down there, and I can easily see what I need.

Hugs dear Snowysmom. I believe in my heart this will be year of greater peace for dear you. One decision at a time like anything else, in prayer and reflection. I am truly so thankful you have some trips and retirement option to come. Please always be kind to you.

Dear Footballmouse, extra prayers also you moving forward job wise. I'm sorry about the ornament. Wishing you a better day ahead.

Please get some rest dear Lynn!

Dear Easyas, hooray for fun trips ahead.

Grace of God, I have made progress the last two days. Most of all I am getting much more consistent sleep including over night. This for me is a huge blessing. Dad agrees that the more true and God willing pain free sleep I get the more healed and stronger I become. The CVS cream still helps too.

Have a great rest of the day friends.

Thanks Luckyrabbit. My beloved late grandma absolutely loved The Rose Parade. We never did see it live but in high school one weekend I volunteered with flowers on a float. Prepandemic, an upstairs library hallway out here had a display of old Rose Parade pictures on the wall. God willing one day when I am back to normal I can let all of you know if it is still there.

Flingdumbo127 Glad you are sleeping better and feeling stronger.

Footballmouse Sorry about the broken ornament. How is the job decision going?

Good morning. It is 29 here with temps heading to 35. Yesterday was so windy my trash containers tipped over a couple of times while waiting for pickup. Some people had things flying out of their containers. It is supposed to be calmer today with some wind later this morning. I went to the gym instead of walking at the lake. Too cold with the wind. I am trying to be more focused and calm when working and not worry about what needs to be done but just do what I can in the time that I have each day. Yesterday it worked pretty well. I just need to be mindful and not let anyone make me crazy! I made homemade whole wheat pizza dough last night. The dough rises a bit more than regular dough and has the wheat taste which I like. I topped it with pepper and onions. I have enough for a couple of nights.

Have a good Friday.

Sounds delicious!!

I watched the twins yesterday - first time I'd seem them since Christmas, so of course they showed me their presents. 🎁

She got a hoverboard and a large play tent kind of like this:

and he got a new Nerf gun and a miniature 3-D printer!

Happy Friday!:dogdance:

Some snow was expected last night but we didn't get any. Good! We are expected to get a decent amount Sunday night into Monday. Hopefully it doesn't start until I get done at work at Kohl's.:drive:❄️

How is the job decision going?
I won't get the official job offer from the other job until Monday. Still don't know what pay we're talking about so that's pretty frustrating 😠. I think I've already made my decision, and take the new position at the hospital I'm at now. The standing for 10 hours, the commute, and the benefits all helped make the decision.

Watched The Fall Guy last night, it's on Amazon Prime. It was pretty good, I recommended it to my sister so I'm curious to hear what she thinks about it. Ryan Gosling is good in it.

I'll put the rest of my Xmas decorations away tomorrow, hopefully I don't break anything else 🙄. I'm taking the Xmas tree and decorations down at work today 🎅. Most of the decorations are things that I bought and brought in, those will be coming home with me today.

That's about it, have a great day!

Good morning. The sun is out but it's been snowing very lightly, not amounting to anything. Might get an inch tomorrow, but now they say 3-5 possible on Monday. Just made a Martins (Giant) run for a few things, just in case. I'm not going out in the storm. I have plenty of stuff in the freezer if I need it. I'll put the car cover on tomorrow and the covered box on the deck for the outdoor cats food tomorrow. My back already aches at the thought of clearing snow. But it's winter, have to expect it.

I've been watching The Gentlemen on Netflix, it's pretty good. I'm running out of new things to watch so I'm glad some shows come back with new episodes this week.

Have a nice day.
